Clay bar
Quick question on clay. I'm about to clay my 18 month old Camaro, never done this before. A little apprehensive and unsure what product to use. Paint is in good shape, have been using 2 bucket wash method, with grit guards in both buckets, car is garaged 95% of the time, I was looking at chemical guys clay block and lube offer.
http://www.chemicalguys.com/Clay_Blo..._block_kit.htm Wondering what your thoughts are or recommendation. Thanks in advance.

(if you need a compound) Menzerna FG400 with an Uber Yellow Pad or Meg's Microfiber Cutting Pad - with the DA at speed 4.5-5.5 depending on what machine you have - followed by a polish - Menzerna SF4000 or Sonax Perfect Finish with the Uber Green Pad to finish it down at speed 4.5 - 5.5 depending on what machine you have. |

Get Menzerna FG400 and use with the orange pad. If you want really fine jeweling finish with Menzerna SF4500 with the white pad.

It has a nice deep shine and looks great except in direct sunlight, from certain angles, you can see very tiny swirls. I have never used a DA before, and I recently bought a griots garage. So I went on chemical guys site and they said orange for compound, white for polish, and red for wax. I'm not opposed to using different products but I have used #7 and #26 for years so I know (by hand) how to apply them and when to wipe off. I just wanted to be sure I'm using the right pads, that the orange is not too aggressive for the UC, and the white is right for the #7 since it's a "pure polish" with no micro-abrasives. If I got 1/2 out by hand surely the DA would get it to 90/95 percent if used with the correct pad wouldn't it? |

I know the UC is lighter than 105, but stronger than 205. I just want to be sure the orange pad won't put in MORE swirls with the UC. The white pad is a very light abrasive, and I wanted to be sure it wont add swirls when used with #7. Looks like there is only 1 way I will find out, maybe I'll try the UC on the white pad 1st. |

One quick last thing, if I go over it with a thin plastic sandwich bag, and I feel no grit, should I still clay before buffing? I've done this on my car and I only feel grit on the hood, and the front. The front is clear bra though so won't clay it.
