GM could do similar - partner up with Apple!
Things like that would be nice, but to have a different dash blank, harness etc for an option that less than 50% of your market can even use... Well its the same reason they don't offer roll up windows.

Nice idea, but will never happen

swapping steering wheels isn't too hard... the dealer might even do it for you. if you DIY just make sure to do lots of research and disconect the battery or the airbag will likely go off in your face.

and for people like me that hate Apple products and simply refuse to buy them, I don't want my money being spent to develop that option in terms of overall product costs. Having a USB jack is perfectly fine for people like me. I have a USB drive inserted in my console and works just fine.

Now, my GF has an iPod that she'll connect to the system and from what I've seen -- she doesn't have any complaints on how the system handles it... If it's just something they can do in the car's firmware/software that doesn't add option costs.. then, fine.. but, I don't want some notch or markout for something I'd never use.

So how is the LFX engine on reliability and longevity. I'd like to see 200K plus miles.

You do an INSANE amount of bitching and complaining for someone still driving an 01' & 02' Camaro.

How bout you put your ass into a 5th gen before you start spewing your bullshit?

Out of deep concern for your problem I have engineered a quick, but high tech solution.
Step 1: Acquire some tape. I used electrical but duct tape will hold better.

Step 2: Tear off a small piece of tape.

Step 3: Take piece of tape and form a roll.

Step 4: Apply newly created double side tape to back of !PHONE.

Step 5: Apply !PHONE to steering wheel or surface of choice.

After project is complete you should be able play with your !PHONE while driving your Camaro although the 323HP and 30MPG would be good enough for me. (Average installation time: 30 seconds. )

As for phones:

Close-enough to 50% in my book -- the lion's share regardless.

Ok.. as an IT person.. I'm laughing about a Gartner reference... Seriously.. Those people are a total joke in IT.. We're constantly having to defend ourselves from their reports that C-Level people just love to bite on.

I understand there's some factual bits there... but, Gartner as a whole gets 0 respect from myself and many other high level IT people I'm aware of -- and, these aren't IT people that claim to be IT and do Mom/Pop stuff.. I'm talking about people at some of the largest Legal and Trading firms on the planet that have multiple concurrent PhDs.

Why does every announcement happen like this?
I cant believe Scott takes the time to write in these threads yet he does. GM definitly listens to their customers and the critics hence the improvements to the car.

Now my MAJOR question is?

Are the guages new for all models?!?!?!?!
I see writing similar to the ZL1

If you are paying, I'll be glad to place my order. Since that is doubtful, I will express my interest in the features I would want in a new car that *I* would pay for.

I have nothing against them....hell let me give you a little background here boss. I'm currently 41 years old, I have owned a Camaro since I was 16. In order, I've owned a 78 LT, 83 Z28, 89 IROC, 93 Z28, 73 RS/Z28, 99 Z28 and my current 10' SS. What bothers me is all I see you do on here and on Chicago 5th gen is belittle what the 5th gen platform is bringing to the table. Your lowpoint was saying the 4th gen was so much better because it had a real leather wrapped e brake handle. Seriously? Really? The question is, what's your problem?!?! Is it 5th gen envy?!?!? This car is the finest Camaro platform I've ever owned....and having owned 2 of each gen ( aside from Gen I ) I think that should tell you something. But yeah, I clearly have an issue.

So once GM engineers the car to you EXACT specs, will you buy it? I'm going to guess not....so how about pipe down a bit.

Atta Boy, Scott.

Keep up the good work. There will always be things folks love about our new babies, and some things we don't...the nature of the beast for a super car....at a competitive price!

328i
etc.......

The point is that we talk to all walks of life -- ESPECIALLY because we wanted this car to appeal to a wider audience.

The Nav. is a perfect example: a lot of the 'intenders' and other sport coupe owners felt that OnStar was a safer alternative. I won't get into an argument over that other than to say the last thing we need is people looking DOWN instead of watching the road.........

Something else to chew on: What makes you think we're 'done'? Perhaps we have lots of other tricks up our sleeve.

TRUST ME - this car has more research than any car I can think of - and that includes all other manufacturers.......

If it's not Mustang trolls, it's our own kind whining about GM actively improving and tweaking our beloved Camaro.

Let's just ask GM to discontinue the Camaro and we won't have anything to worry about
