![]() I've avtually got a 5.3 with the iPhone one. Best video time is 5.8 now. Where is the nearest 1/4 mile track? We should hook up and race. (Just to 60mph) Then get drunk and try it again. JKOh, and mine won't even THINK about spinning tires without a break stand. |

sorry, I was in the midst of working on 5 different threads.... I'm not expecting you to pull sub 13's on the track (btw... have you ever been to the track? jw.) when you do plan on going, pm me a day or two before you leave, ive got some things I want you to try while you are there... actually, I'll pm some of them to you now just for kicks and giggles.) I'll be patiently awaiting pics and vids at the track. btw... what did you set the weight of the vehicle to in the Dynolicious app? I saw that Number 9 had set his weight to 4703lbs.

More important issues? I would of thrown a fit. How much did you drop on your car? More important issues? That would of been call number one to GM. I dont give a crap if anything gets done. They hear about it when they get complaints. Trust me. |

Okay, had a blast doing some runs last night... 1/8 mile, untimed... the iPhone App only (I'm not interested in all the pro/con debate about the iPhone app's, so save it... it's been used against itself, and been consistent against itself, and been all I have at the 1/8 track). I've used Dynolicious a lot now both before having the dyno tune *and* after the dyno tune. Below is the comparative results. Definite improvements since having the Dyno tune.
Also, for those that disregard anything the Dynolicious app has to say *and* for those that don't/didn't read the thread, the before/after actual Dyno results are re-included below too. The results do not lie... and the L99 stories that are being reported are as consistent as the before/after results people are posting. The results at the track - amazing. As it happens, I lined up next to another 2010 L99 last night. Mechanically the same car as my own... but still suffering from bad timing and a "safe" A/F mixture. I beat it by nearly two car lengths in an 1/8 mile.

Bro, if my car was under performing you better believe i would have something to say about it. Fortunately for me the car is running good for stock. I took it to the track with 400 miles on it and got a 14.73 @ 99.54 mph with a DA of 7800' to 8000' so corrected for sea level it would be 13.2 @ 109mph. Not bad for a bone stock auto imo. It won't stay that way for long but I wanted to see the progress of the build from stock to bada$$. I have never used an I phone for data and probably never will. Nor do I care what my dyno numbers say... A dyno guy can make a pinto look good. Dyno's are for tuning and tuning only. The track doesn't lie.

Well finaly got some time to play around today. To find my times very slow 0-60. Around 7 sec seem to be the average. My 5th try I for the heck of it turned off tc resulting in only a very small chirp. wish I had the time to take care of this problem. I'm just glad I didn't race anyone and look like a idiot. Still fun to drive though afm is ignoring and will be my last car I own with it.

I can tell you this I am afraid I am going to be in it one day and a Mustang is going to want to get frisky and I might just lose that battle. I don't think mine is as slow as Scott's so I am not overly concerned about a V6 Accord or a V6 Camaro with a 500 pound payload either

OK, I think somewhere earlier I made a post about this problem, but I think it might be worth mentioning again, or maybe saying it in a different way. Looking at the 60' times from a few posts up of 2.6x, I think this tells the whole story. irpq's dyno results arent' great, but IMO don't explain fully the very poor performance off the line. This is because the dyno is not done in first gear, and does not represent a launch scenario. It is a slow steady pull in one gear (4th).
Think about that 2.6x 60' time, I think I could run faster than that! Seriously, my wife managed a 2.2x in her '01 z28 with a 2.73 rear end, and she had never been to the track before, and is no expert, believe me. When one of you guys with the slow cars gets to the track and posts measured 60' times to back up the iphone results, I think it will be clear where the issue is. I think it is mostly about the PCM limiting power from a standing start. I know that the dyno results were goofy as well, but I don't think that explains the whole issue. irpq11, can you repost your range of 60' times for your runs?
