No you don't need LT's. But for best performance..... I use and promote Kooks long tube headers. You can use Borla S-Type without headers for sure and is a premium exhaust with a great sound and will help your performance.

Thanks for quick reply , how about air intake system? more air to the engine with S type exhaust, would that be a good combo?

Still debating with S type or touring type . S seems to be little loud from inside . I don't if i can enjoy my music and conversation with someone.

I would stick with the Borla Stinger exhaust. Unless you are planning on modding the front end more (headers etc) I would stick with the S-type.

I installed a LSR cold air intake with a custom tune, and have just ordered the borla s axle back exhaust. I did a ton of research and talked to a bunch of dealers and it seems the Stinger is the way to go, if you do not want to add headers or full exhaust, for a true muscle car sound.

Just got my atak catback installed last friday, it sounds must deeper, than in the video. It's loud on the first start up then gets quiet. With headers, I bet it will be really loud. But just the exhaust, it sounds great, but not as loud as in the videos.

I've had mine on for about 6 months now and I thought the same thing. You need to have someone drive by you in it to really get a good feel for the sound. I always have people turn there heads as I accelerate or decelerate.

Currently trying to find someone to buy the ATAK catback from, either via the states or preferably in Canada. Who knows, quotes are varying hundreds of dollars so far, planning to purchase in the next couple weeks.

After today I will have heard all (3) Borla exhausts in person. I heard the ATAK the other day and very very impressed. The Touring is nice but too quiet for my liking and today I am suppose to meet a guy with the S-Type, which sounds great on the videos, will know for sure which one to get soon.

You really can't go wrong with the S or the ATAK. I've actually had both in my car. The S has a deeper growl than the ATAK, but with that lower frequency comes more drone. I ended up sticking with the ATAK. With my cam and headers it's loud and obnoxious...just the way I like it!

Have you heard that S type yet? I haven't been lucky enough to see many mods on ss where i live.. so its tough for me to decide on a exhaust. i dont plan on gettin LTs and thats whats makin me lean towards the atak catback. does the catback atak sound better in person over the axle back since they got rid of the stock resonators?? also, does the s type give that nice crisp sound on high end rpm like the atak?? any help from anyone appreciated

does the s type change tone on high end rpm range? thats what i like about atak, but i also like the deep growl of the s type. no plans of headers tho so i wanna make sure its loud enuff for my likes.. which isnt rediculous ear bleedin loud

The S has nice volume, but not as aggressive as the ATAK. The S definitely gets a little higher at higher RPMs...the drone comes in right around the 70mph range. It's really wasn't a big deal for me, but it drives some people crazy. I wanted an even more aggressive exhaust so I kept the ATAK. Of course after headers, cam, blower etc. it's crazy loud now. Here's a recent video of mine from a race.

I'm torn as far as what exhaust and intake to get. I was thinking ATAK but then I saw the JBA Competition exhaust and I'm torn! Any suggestions?

Thanks!
