Erie insures our cars, house, and rings. We've been happy with them, and our local agent has been very easy and nice to work with.

When I added the Camaro, however, I received a letter from their corporate office stating they don't normally insure cars with such a high power to weight ratio

Yeah,my agent never mentioned anything about that

On a side note,it is nice having an actual local agent to call if I need to,before I had Metropolitan for 16 years, and GMAC for 3 years,if I needed anything I had to call an 800 number and talked to whoever answered the phone.

I thought it was odd as well. I saved the letter, so I'll have to find the exact verbiage.

My parents had Erie when I started driving. I had to get separate insurance with Progressive when I got my IROC-Z at 16 because Erie refused to insure it.

I've been with Erie since 1999. When I bought my last 4th gen in 2001, I received the same nasty-gram about a high horsepower to curb weight vehicle. Blah blah blah...they don't seem to mind the current Camaro. Maybe it's because the curb weight is proportionally high to the HP.

Just checking for what is going on tomorrow at starlite. I live in Mt Pleasant and thinking about going. Never have gone before but heard if you don't get there early you may not get in.

Being the final night of the season it should be packed. If you don't get there in time to participate then park in spectator and come anyway. There is so much to look at that 5th Gen Camaros are one of the last things I bother to look at. Probsbly be my last year as a participant since they're a dime a dozen but I'll always go to see everything else. It is worth coming to!

And yes,you must get there early.
If I do go I plan on getting up there around 4-4:30 like we did last week.
