Yes the stock catback is 2.5".
It looks like there are two versions. If you get this one, you can use the TSP offroad connections. http://www.phastekperformance.com/20...pipe-30220.htm Do you have an L99? If you're LS3, I'd just use the stock catback and cut it for an axleback.

If you want a 3" catback, then don't worry about the SLP x pipe. Just get yourself a 3" catback with a 2.5" neck down in the front. That will hook directly up to your TSP headers with offroad connections.

Oh awesome. I'm getting pretty close to ordering mine too. I just need to sell a couple things and I'll be ready to drain my mod fund once again! We are buying a car for the oldest to take to college and I found a sweet deal at a local credit union. Now at least I know what I'm up against. I have been hoarding money expecting the worst!
