I have a question about the boat. How do you prevent "enemies" from just picking the boat up out of the water and stealing the technology? Does is have a "self destruct" mechanism? That would be very Mission Impossible.

(By the way, the last link you posted sent me to a snow storm story.)
you have to be able to catch it to pick it up...

Let me put it this way.. these things are capable of leaving SST in their wake....

There are many onboard sensors that detect 'pickup' - visual, thermal, vibration, attitude, etc. They have related, available "safety" mechanisms.

Weird about the last link. If you paste it into a new window it seems to work.

that looks like a pretty cool little deal you got going.
You can never 'replace' trained warfighters. You can use these as force multipliers. They can be nasty and when someone shoots at them, you can stay safe and just laugh.

Funny you say that. There is a speed limit in S.D. Harbor of 30 mph, but the Coast Guard Commandant said we could do a quick burst to 45 or so. I think Mark hit 50 or 60 by the Coalition/Allied force reps and they were amazed how close and fast it passed their boat. Their response was "if it was offensive, they have no defense". We also showed them a few turns in the 10-15 G range. Not an easy target.

That is awesome.

When ever you want to reschedule lunch just let me know. I'll even make the trip down if I need to.

a few turns in the 10-15G range? Are you saying that the boat can handle taking 15G's worth of force WHILE turning? Damn. Well, I'm impressed.

Now that the craziness is winding down, we need to get together - a lot to go over. Sorry about the delay, but a lot in a short period of time and we were running max capacity.

Yes. Laterally, it can only be done unmanned since it would snap your neck if it were manned. The hull itself is designed specifically to handle that.

Think of doing a 0-60 run in a Camaro at a drag strip and then turning the other direction within the width of the car without losing speed. It's fairly radical. We regularly crank turns of that magnitude in most runs. It really shows us which components are up to the task and if they were mounted properly.

Sorry. Been so focused on what we have to do lately. Gotta get back on topic for the FUN stuff - SST.

I am calling tomorrow for SST status. The tranny should be ready to go back to Nelson and then either Mark Bowler will fly and do the install or the car will end up at Bowler's. The data logging system is wired and install in the center console is complete.
