To tell you how far out it sounds to pull a 12.5 in a stock camaro.... There were guys at Camaro5 Fest that couldn't pull a 12.5 with a tune and supercharger!

Also think about this.... We had about 150 cars run at the fest and a whole lot of them were stock manuals. The best that I heard of any of the bone stock one's doing was a 13.5 quarter mile. That's a whole second slower! About 1/12 of the track!

Are we suppose to believe that a manual stock car can be that much faster? It's funny how the majority of the manuals were running 13.8s and a great run was considered a 13.5 by a manual car that day. The guys that are posting the lowest times are some of the most active. Why did they all dodge the most important event of the year?

I will say that at least one person on here has said that he is going to back it up by showing up to Challenger Fest to show that his car is capable of pulling 12's. I think that's awesome!

At Challenger Fest, they are going to check everything on the cars that are claiming to be stock. I really, really want to see this so the whole matter can be put to rest. Believe it or not, I want the 12.5 quarter mile by a bone stock camaro to be true. That would mean that we are smoking the challengers! If it's not true and all those top times are bogus, then us automatics will be representing us running true 13.3s (fastest verifiable times at Camaro5 Fest).

As far as guys with superchargers and tunes not running 12.50's at the fest, maybe they don't know how to drive. I don't know what to tell you.

As for the top guys not going to the event, I resent the fact that you say we were "dodging" the event. I wanted nothing more than to show up but was unable to do so because of work. I'm pretty sure nhra stocker was there and ran a sub 13.00 second run. Maybe you missed that one.

What I'm sensing is that since you are unable to get a 12 second run you find it hard to believe that anyone else is capable of doing it. Just because there were no 12.50's at the Fest doesn't mean those times are unatainable. There are a lot of factors that go into getting these 12 second runs. First of all, the vehicle has to be broken in properly. Secondly, you have to know how to drive. And finally, you have to have the right conditions to allow the first 2 to work to their fullest. My best runs were in very cool temps, low humidity and -DA. M TBSS varied by .4 to.5 seconds from winter to summer.

I welcome anyone to check my vehicle from top to bottom to insure it is stock. I will allow the computer to be scanned to prove the ecm has not changed, I will allow a fuel sample to show there is no race fuel being used. I will allow just about anything short of tearing things apart to show this is a completely stock vehicle.

Merrit Island isn't that far from WPB. What say we get together at Orlando, Bradenton or PBIR and you can look my car over. Maybe even a race or two. You can inspect my vehicle to your little heart's desire. I can guarantee I won't run my best times due to the weather, but i'm pretty confident I can pull some sub 13.00 runs.

I'll have to check with the mods about adding your time to the "official" fast list. 1320Junkie original rules state no red light runs will be allowed in the fast list.
We will have to see if that rule can be adjusted or if it needs to continue.

LOL
A red light has absolutely nothing to do with ET. But you got to do what you got to do.
I have some other 12.79's that are green but that one was the fastest

You're right, outside temp is a huge factor. To illustrate the point further, I ran an 11.59 @ 118 at SGMP during Pony Wars in February with temps around 50 degrees. However, at the C5Fest on same track, my best time was 11.99 @ 116 with temps in the 80's. 4 tenths slower was enough proof for me, lol.

Finally got into the 11s, although just barely. Just for the record, I'm NOT running drag radials, I'm doing it the hard way, with Nitto NT05 street tires. I had to drop the pressure from the recommended 38 lbs to 24 lbs to get it to hook at all. Drag radials are coming, and should be worth a few 10ths at least.

All time slips need to include a full list of mods.

Definitely not stock tires. What size are you running?

Thanks for the mod list. Your times has been updated. I always need a list of mods with each new post/time slip, because I can't assume someone has the same setup as a previous post/times slip.

Very nice. If you can get that 60' time down, you will really have a rocket on your hands !!
