Hey Jocoo26,
EL wire is powered by ac voltage from the inverter. The inverter changes the DC voltage from your battery to AC voltage for the EL Wire. The wires coming out of the inverter the Black White is ground and the Black is AC. The wires you connect to the Battery of your car are DC. The Black White is Positive and the Black is negative or ground. If your connection to the EL Wire is good then everything should be fine.

Geez. Take it easy bear. He was just answering a question, not posting a DIY here. And if it wasn't for 2SSRS and others like him that have been here helping people since the beginning, you wouldn't have a forum to play hall monitor in.

dude, uve got a total of 10 posts on here and u act like its totally off topic. its still an interior light mod. AND i never asked him to post how to do it in here. i bet theres not one thread on any forum longer than one page that doesnt have something off topic on it. just read past it and go on!

The only issue I had was my car did not have the connectors pre-installed to hook the inverter up to. I did however tap into the the purple and black wire in the harness going to the passenger door behind the passenger kick panel (post #251). So it worked out perfect and I am able to dim the dash light. I will post pics when I get home. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures yet, as it is black powder season and I was in the woods all weekend.

i didnt have the connectors either, i tapped into same area and it worked out great. just a warning its a pain to get a good picture of the abl lighting. i have taking pics of it but no picture i have taken gives it the justice it deserves.
