Might be a blessing in disguise honestly. A lot of American companies have pulled out of there.
Companies are pulling out because the Venezuelan economy utterly collapsed when the new normal for oil became 40 to 50 bucks a barrel. GM must have thought they could hold on because they haven't been too shy about pulling out of bad markets lately.

Oops.

GM must have figured having the production facility was vital to the rest of its South American operations...could be wrong but I think all that's left now is Brazil.

EDIT: There's also plants in Colombia and Argentina, but not sure if those are still active...

GM has had to buy back a Bolt EV with a ton of random bizarre problems.

Owner has already bought another.

Technically yes. While modernized, it still has lots of first gen styling cues. Including the general shape...

You guys remember the refreshed 5th gen? The outrage at the chrome strip RS and the taillights change? Good times.

I like the current Malibu, but I have to say, the alignment of those LED fogs has never grown on me. Looks a bit off in my opinion.

So tired of people saying the modern Camaros are "retro". Sorry...they are not at all retro. So they have the same short rear, long hood profile as the original. Yeah...that's b/c is a damn Camaro!

When something is modernized, its no longer retro. Modern retro is an oxymoron.
