Need your guys help. I have tried a search for a DIY set of instructions and pictures. I want to remove my intake manifold and clean it out, but I am one of those guys who will tear it all apart and have extra bolts left over.

Nevermind. Google works better as a search function than the one here on this site. However, if there are any extra tips or trick you guys could share I am all ears.

I just took mine off recently. Get someone to hold the back bolts while you slide it out and lift the rubber hose over the oil pressure sensor. It would be really easy to break with that booster line. The clamp was in a really annoying position on my car. Open it with some pliers and pull the line off.

I had to remove my intake too. It took about an hour to pull the IM, check cam lobes, and put everything back together.

And tighten the IM bolts back down from the center-out in an X pattern. Gently!

There's really not much of a gap there. On a black car, you can hardly tell it's there at all.

Why take it off to clean it out? Why not just run seafoam through it?

They're double walled Borla 4.5in tips. A good friend owns a muffler shop and he keeps all the good tips that he cuts off other cars. He had this set just sitting there, so I grabbed them. Not too bad for $50.

Never used seafoam before. Is it going to clean it as well as if I were to wipe it clean with a rag? I am guess I just take off the elbow on the intake and spray it through the throttle body then?

It cleans well if you do it right. When you think about it... wiping it down doesn't get all of the passageways and various places that you can't really reach. I can't remember if you're supposed to run it in the brake booster or the intake side. Someone will know.

Use a nice and cup so you can reach it with the brake booster hose and use about half a bottle of the stuff. Let it all go in slowly so you won't let it turn off so your thumb will be busy! Lol then sit back and enjoy the smoke show.

Not sure what the brake booster hose is. Does anyone have pictures of this? So I will slowly pour it in to this hose while the car is running?

Or you can just grab a buddy and spray it through the TB/IM while your buddy keeps the revs at 1400/1500. That's the method I use.

Cool seems pretty straight forward then.

I agree. I like them because they were big and double walled. A few years back, people were melting their diffuser because of misaligned or too big single walled tips. Haven't had a issue with these in the 2yrs they've been on

You could also use the line on the intake tube. It creates the suction for the engines clean side evacuation. It's in front of the TB so it should clean everything from the TB to the tail pipe. Even if you take it off, you won't be able to clean up through the passages in the IM. Since you're sucking the SF through the engine, it should hit all the nooks and crannies. You may have to do it twice to get everything, if you're that anal about it. As has been said, have a friend rev it up as you run it through. If you have a mosquito problem around your house, you won't when you're done.
