When I am in doubt, I re-adjust the outside mirror downward so that I can see the curb, etc. that I am worried about scraping. It is a pain in the butt, however, it is better than expiriencing that sickening feeling that you get when the wheel kisses the curb stone. I would guess that you can get it repaired. I have seen some aluminum motorcycle wheels that were repaired and you couldn't spot the repaired portion.

For those looking to get your wheel repaired, I found this company doing a search. They are mobile, so they travel to your area. They charge around $135 - $150 per wheel. I have an appointment with them on Tuesday here in Montgomery, AL.

It is awkward at first, but once you log a few miles you get used to it and it becomes second nature. So you need to pay special attention in drivethrus for awhile but once you adjust you should be fine.
I think you find this out the moment you drive the car...

I did the same thing about a month ago... Was in a relatively narrow downtown area and a firetruck came from behind. Had to pull over pretty quickly and pretty far since there was a line of traffic going in both directions and as I did so I could hear the dreaded sound... I now have a good 5-6" scrape along the outer edge of my front passenger side rim where the leading edge caught the curb.

I'm living with it for now but, needless to say, I certainly wasn't happy right after it happened. I've been meaning to look into seeing if it was repairable and it doesn't look much worse than the OPs so I have some hope that it is

Just an update for u guys. I took it to a shop and they say dealers scrape them all the time unloading them off the truck. He said $175 to fix mine. I might just look into getting a set of the chrome ones though
