Driving awareness and lack of courtesy on the road has been on the decline for a while. Cars with high beams on seems to be normal now. I only use high beams on the highway and ONLY when there's no oncoming car traffic/close car in front of me. Sometimes I wonder if people think the blue high beam indicator on their dash means their headlights are on. The reason why you see cars driving without lights on at night is because modern cars always have the dash gauges lit up. Older cars didn't have dash lights and you had to turn on headlights for gauges to light.
The sad thing is people are more focused on their phone than the roads many times. Just look around at other drivers when you're stopped at a traffic light. Over half are looking down at their laps and look up briefly every 5 seconds. There's no care and passion anymore in driving. Cars are just transportation appliances to get people from point A to point B. Less care and passion means less informed, experienced drivers on the road.

I-95 DC to SC - limit is 70. People get in the left lane and go 73 - they are too lazy to drive in the right and get in the left just to pass.... Most in the left lane go 78-80 and it holds everyone else up. causes people to pass on the left which is also dangerous. Then you have passive aggressive power trippers who see themselves as helping enforce the law...
