I have a question for you.
I'm going to give all of my cars a really good detail job over the next few weeks. I'm ordering a Porter Cable polisher to remove swirl marks and water spots. I want to keep using a paint sealant(Zaino) instead of a wax, so does it really matter what polishing compound and finishing compound I use before the sealant? I'll be wiping the car down after the polishing is finished and before I seal the cars. I also read that you can put a coat of wax on your car after you use Zaino to seal the paint and it will bring out more of a shine and a deeper gloss. Has anybody tried this method? I know everybody has their own personal opinions on what they like and use, but does it really matter when it comes to a polishing compound/swirl remover. I have heard good things about Meguiar's m105 and m205 and Adam's products. I also know on autogeeks they use the Pinnacle swirl remover and finishing compound with the Porter Cable in the demo video. Since I am using the Zaino sealants I could always try their Z-PC as well. But like I said before, does it really matter which one(not a cheap brand) I use if I seal or wax after the paint correction is done? Also is it safe to use the Porter Cable polisher set on a low setting on the glass with a glass polish to remove water spots?

I have a 2010 Rally Yellow Camaro a few small swirl marks here and there and very small water spots all over the paint and windows but you can only see them in certain light. Came this way. I have a Rain Soft water softener in my house.
Wife's car is a 2008 Red Dodge Charger swirl marks, scratches, hard water spots on paint and windows. Also has black tire marks on the rear bumper where a guy pulled his truck tire across it. I also have a 2002 Dark Charcoal Grey Suburban in pretty good shape with the normal scratches and marks for a truck 8 years old. Still has a very nice shine to it, but it could be better. If I have time Friday, I'll give you guys a call at your number you have listed in your signature. I'm looking at the Porter Cable 7424XP kit you have listed on your site. Would this one be my best bet? I'm not to familiar with the other brands of polish you have listed with the other PC. I'd like to get something figured out and ordered to get it here next week so I can spend Labor Day weekend working on at least the Camaro and Charger. Here is the one I'm looking at Porter Cable 7424XP w/Meguiar's M105 & M205

Pressure Washers (Gas vs Electric)
I have a question about pressure washers. I currently own a Kohler Courage XT-7 173 cc gas pressure washer (2600 PSI and 2.4 GPM). I have a 125 gallon resevoir tank with RO water that I use the pressure washer with. The only time I have to wash my camaro and vette is on the weekends in the morning. That being said, my wife is getting somewhat irritated with me because the gas pressure washer is loud and wakes her and the kids up in the morning.
So, I'm considering switching over to an electric pressure washer. I do understand that electrice pressure washers don't put out as high a PSI and GPM as compared to gas versions, but I really don't rely on pressure to clean my cars. All I'm really interested in is getting my RO water from the tank to the car. So, I've been researching electric pressure washers and there are so many out there. One in particular caught my attention and seems to be a very good product. I don't want to buy a cheap one that is going to break early on. I want a good quality product that will deliver and do what is says it's going to do. Here's the one I found online: http://www.pressurewashersdirect.com...358/p3772.html What do you think about this one? Do you know of any other good quality ones? thanks, |

I got all of my new products in this week to detail my cars.
I have a question that I'm not sure about. I know I need to mask off my rally stripes on my Camaro because they are vinyl, but on my wife's Charger it has hand painted pinstripes down both sides of the car. They are not under the clear coat but are painted on. Do I need to mask off the pinstripes before I use my Porter Cable, just avoid going over them, or is it OK do buff them as well? I just don't want to mess the pinstripes up so if I need to avoid them I will. Thanks.
