It’s likely your Silverado IS an LS motor. Not sure about the brand new ones.

Don't really care what the price of gas is. It is what it is, and won't stay high forever. I have a 2015 Malibu 2.0T for a daily drive through the winter months.
Come warm weather again, I'll drive with the top down and a grin with my 2013 ZL1 convertible rowing the gears. |

I spent a little over $50 at Kroger to fill up my my modest and unassuming V6 the other day. That was 87 octane at $3.25/gal with 30 cents in Kroger fuel points!

I'm in a lucky position where my employer pays for my gas. Otherwise I'd already be driving a Civic.

Since I've owned my Camaro the average gas price for high octane is about $3.00/gallon and I've averaged about 23.7 MPG over 355,600 miles. So...
355,600/23.7X$3.00 = $45,012 I paid $34,125 + tax for my car when I bought it in June of 2009 Which means that I've already spent over $10,000 more in gas than I paid for the car. ...and counting. |

Holy shit, your car has 355K on it?? How’s it holding up? Have you had to replace anything major?

Gas would have to be insanely expensive for me to consider getting rid of my Camaro. I accepted paying more for gas going into the purchase knowing I'd be putting in 91 or 94 octane. I paid $1.71 a liter the other day for 94 ($6.46 Canadian a gallon)

My vehicles are here to stay. Higher prices and inflation will just make me drive them less.

I haven't done the math, but I don't see an upside to selling a car that is paid off to make payments on something new AND continue to pay for gas, albeit less, on top of that.
