I guess if you were that concerned you should've had a v6.
I wasn't concerned about the mileage at all. Rest assured, I was quite expectant of un-Prius-like mileage. It's just I wanted tips on how to economize it as best I could. I see 15-16 city MPG average thrown around these posts a lot, so I don't see any reason I can't have the same is all.

24mpg city driving... No offense meant but I'm not sure I buy that. Highway yes, city... I'd have to see it in person.

Your still in break-in period, so don't floor it anytime soon!

Don't sweat what others say, if you want to make your car efficient for whatever reason then do it. Nobody will know and honestly nobody will care, just post about how you're only getting 1 MPG for them lol.

After you're break-in period which will take however long look into add-ons, keep tire pressure optimized, and even a tune can give you better MPG. These forums are a wealth of info on what works and what doesn't.

On cruise... I believe that. I thought you were showing off your average overall which would mean you have to do 90%+ of your driving on cruise control.

Some of these posts are rediculous. Why in the world would you buy an SS with 426hp if you were so concerned about gas mileage? That is why they ahve the V6 version. Don't go over 2k RPM's? Shift into 6th at 45? Please......What a waste, you might be using 175 of the 426 horsepower at your disposal. I feel ZERO sympathy for someone that would buy a high performance V8 and then drive it like Grandma, what a waste

The most I can do w/o the CC is like 18 - 20 mpg overall.

IMO for a 426hp 6.2 litter V8 thats pretty good.

Not all of us care to stomp it at every light like a mooey. Mine is my daily driver and I want to take care of it and try to get reasonable gas mileage, sue me. Yeah I like to goose it from time to time, but I think this is a great "cruising car" and I treat it as such. Just because you have a lead foot doesn't mean everyone else has to. Just sayin.....

Agreed. I jumped to the conclusion your screen shot was your overall average and not your cruise control MPG.

I averaged 16-16.2 overall on my 2SS. Averaging 16 flat on my GT500.

Nothing to complain about with the amount of HP these things spit out.
