The hardcore game play level really isn't that hard. Read one take on it here.

I've heard NV has a lot of bugs in it. Any of you early adopters have any issues?

Only thing I've run into is the box that pops up to ask if you want to cancel a transaction got stuck. I just hit my guide button and then B and it was ok after that....hasn't happened since. They are working on patches and they should be released soon

Ya I read that. I guess by hardcore I mean more of a realism mode. But I do like that idea better than just spawning more enemies or giving them more health and calling that hardcore.

I don't know where you got the Postal reference. I think the original Fallout came out before Postal? Plus Fallout was a brilliant rpg and Postal was crap.

Only bug I got is the steam cloud quicksave bug. Just a result of steam getting its fingers in everything.

Perhaps Postal was a ripoff of Fallout?

Fallout 1 & 2 were among the best games to have ever been made for the PC. They were more turn based combat, but as far as roleplay, originality and atmosphere, they were amazing.

Fallout 3 was pretty good for a first person shooter, better than most. Some of it was repetitive, but the only game that was better when it came out was Bioshock.

Sorry, I'll have to strongly disagree here. The FPS element of Fallout 3 was awkward at best. Bethesda took the same aiming system they used for swords, clubs, bows and arrows and attempted to make it work for firearms.

The game itself was great, but that aiming system was more than frustrating for me. The new system looks to be much improved

I actually liked the aiming system, because it resolved the shots based off your characters stats, not how well you play twitch games. (I like twitch based games too...I still play Counterstrike: Source, and am pretty decent at it).

And, like 1 & 2, how you built your character made a huge difference as far as how you could get by certain parts of the story. This way, if you didn't build your character to be good with guns, you could usually talk your way out of a situation. Even with the 3D shooter part of it, it was still more of a role play game than a shooter.

And, I liked that.

Noticed something funny.. they recycled some of the bgms from Fallout 1 in the game. Thought that was cool..
