If you want to same some serious cash look in to a C5 Z06. Super fast car with excellent handling for low $20K's.

I can't get over the fact that someone that needs help buying a $20K car is asking for help from someone who is in financial trouble. Nice LS1 F-bodies can be found in the $10-15k range. Even still, $15K is too much to pay for those cars unless it is absolutely mint and in that case, why would you want to DD a mint (what could be a collector's) car? Check out the Blue Book value on those. Not even close to $20K

Obviously OP is young. That being said, there is no need to get the best of the best. You have a lot of life ahead of you. Be good to your parents and don't make them strain more than they already are just so you can look cool for your friends.

2002 Trans AM WS6 6 Speed- TTops w/ 36,000 miles = 17,030 dollars. and that is suggested retail.

Private Party (where you would likely buy a 02 Model car- especially in "great shape"-- They go for 14,780 (that is with very low miles, and excellent condition)

I went with the most expensive model of the LS1 Fbodies (besides the firehawk, and the SLP options, and Collectors edition, or aniversery stripes / badges for the Camaro)

I actually had owned the above mentioned car (2002 WS6) I miss that car :(

I paid 8k for a 1998 z28 in 2005. It had 79k miles on it.

You can find a good 4th gen for around 10k.

A good 4th gen Camaro will be between 8-10k and a Trans am between 9-13k.

Nor did many when they first came out, thus the poor sales.

True indeed. But a little secret not discussed. The track numbers are real close. The GTO is lighter, has brembos too, comes in manual or auto, and since its not a hot item, insurance will be lower. Lastly I see a lot with less than 30,000 miles at low prices. They are very well eqipped on the interior. That should hold u over for a while till you get your camaro in the future.

I was looking for a GTO less than a month ago and depending on the area of the country you are in, you can come across some GREAT deals on them. I found an 06 GTO with 24k miles for 18,xxx. And that was even at a dealer. There are cars out there for that price. c5 Z06 prices are on the way back up right now for some reason.

I test dorve a 2006 GTO back in 2006 and it was a really solid powerful car.
