It is a 2.3. Andy at ADM told me he has installed them and it is not as good as the LS9 2.3. That thread information is being posted by a Maggie engineer so it is hard not to be biased.

3.6 is supposed to be a bolt on .. its either this or a rear mount compound setup. Iv decided.

Have you called up Kenne Bell to discuss your build in depth with a knowledgable staffer and to ask some questions you may have concerning fitment and what not? I'm sure they can take the worry out of buying/ installing a 3.6L especially since its advertised in their brochure. You could have in and making boost by next week vs much longer wait with those other routes.

Idk about the 5th gen Camaro but the Ford guys have a few different ways of getting these to fit under stock hoods. Maybe the same can be done, that is if it even needs it.

Sadly the 3.6KB doesn't fit under the stock Shelby hood. Even with lowering the engine you need a different hood, unless you already have a Super Snake.

I don't know if you went through pricing all of the components you need to swap to LS9 2.3 but it actually not that much differnt in pricing. You need the entire LS9 lid and components or it will not flow and those parts are much more expensive than a 1.9. The conversion snout is $1.5K and the 102mm TPIS throttle body (is a must) is $1K. By the time you adjust the pulleys you are in the same price range.

In case you can't tell I want you to do the test on the KB since I already went through the 2.3. I could not keep the 1.9 cool on the road course so something had to change and backing off the power a ton just was not an option for me.

Keep us posted whatever you decide.

Where did you buy your 2.3 blower?

There's a few SVTP members who have been able to get it under the stock hood, and Lethal has a 4.5L Whipple under the stock hood as well.

I think the 2.8L fits fine, but not the 3.6L.

Straight from my builder and Van...

Feel free to pm me a build with a 3.6kb under a stock Shelby hood so we don't clog this thread up too much. I'd like to see how it was done.

Update: Truck Norris is correct about the stock hood fitment. I'd still get an aftermarket hood instead of the engine drop that is required.

I don't know where you got all your 2.3 stuff from but that is NOT the way to do it on one of these cars

the 2.3 lower itself is 2800 from pace performance.

the stock zl1 lid and brick are MUCH more efficient and can be used. the blower must be taken apart and the outlet cut out and a new outlet with correct fitment for the zl1 intercooler brick welded in.. its not something the guy in his garage can do but it is a easy task to have done.

The snout can be modified by removing the shaft and the shaft shortened.

I can do a ls9 blower for about 3500... but I honestly don't think it will put me where I want to be..

the 3.6 KB will fit if your willing to cut the waterfall out from the stock heat exchanger SOPPOSEDLY.. if I buy a KB and have to install a carbon fiber hood or a copo and that's the only problem, id be happy.
