SS4 is technically a little beyond max effort, it requires some flycutting for adequate PTV clearance. The SS4 NFC (no fly cut) is the most aggressive max effort without cutting cam on market that I'm aware of.

But, the more important point in Roader's post is that a big cam with lot of overlap (like the SS4) can be made to still have real good manners with a competent tuner. Just like a mild cam can be made to drive awful with poor tuning. There are areas to skimp, and areas to really spend, and on tuning you don't want to skimp.
