I've never caused (or been in) an accident, but does it justify kicking someone's ass? Maybe the next time you leave out the milk your wife will punch you in your balls.

Sounds like a fair deal to me.

I would agree with you, except for one thing. HIT AND RUN. The guy hit the car, then ran away. If he had gone back, knocked on the door, exchanged information, etc., then you would be right. That isn't what he did. He just took off. Yes, that deserves a beating. Actions have consequences. OP, I hope you filed a police report and criminal charges. Depending on your state, Hit and Run should equal jail time. He will also likely lose his job, I know I would fire him. The business should offer to pay for all damages. Report him, let the cops throw him in jail, and let his cellmate take care of the rest for you.
