Guys, there is nothing new here... just quashing rumors. Normal order process allows for updating your order up until it's pulled for production. Even at full speed from day one, it would take a month to build all the cars that have been ordered. And that's all considering best case scenarios! What will actually happen is a slow ramp-up to full speed that will include parts shortages and other constraints. There was never a way that all orders would be produced before the end of March. So no, this doesn't mean the gripe du jour now has time to be resolved before production begins.

You have to love Chevrolet and there never ending date changes. I will not out anybody but the Dec 2nd date came directly from Chevrolet as well. Regardless this is good news for our customers as it gives them additional time to order any additional LPO's they may want to add or detract. I am considering the shorty headers at this time to add to my list of goodies I want.

Scott:

You can post the following..

I understand the concern with missing the opportunity to change orders, but rest assured it will be late January to early February before we start requesting orders for production, and even when we start the initial number of orders will be a small amount. For most orders, changes will be accepted well into February or March.

Thanks

Well my order is good...only thing I could think of adding would be the intake and headers but I can get them through the dealer since they are dealer installed.

Mine is good to go...just waiting to see when she'll be built!

Maybe a delay in pulling orders will result in a few extras for the 2SS orders? Could always add them in there for the top Camaro...that would be a nice surprise!

Thanks for the update Scotty! I wasn't expecting my Camaro in March anyway so this delay means little to me other than going nuts in waiting.
As long as I have it for the Summer, i'll be good.

I'm sure you've been swamped by calls and PMS but isn't this going to make it worse for you Scotty? Now people will have more time to bug you for changes.

I'm not bugging you again about upgrades UNLESS they pull the HUD out of their sleeve.

Unless you have it in writing from your dealer, don't count on getting those headers installed for free. As my dealer has said to me, GM is trying to help dealers make money off of optional accessory parts as well as the install labor.

Here's some additional information to consider on GMPP items.

When will pricing be available on the Camaro Performance Accessories?

Pricing for performance parts not currently available as a LPO will be released closer to the start of Camaro's production.

When will the Camaro Performance Accessories be available to order?

Soon after the start of Camaro's production. Your local ADI will advise when they can begin to accept orders for these performance parts.

What is the difference between the catback exhaust and the standard exhaust?

Camaro technically does not have a catback exhaust but an exhaust upgrade. With the exhaust upgrade the mufflers are changed to allow better flow and increase the sound level for a more aggressive exhaust note. The exhaust upgrade has tips included that have Chevy bowtie logos on the end of the tips. While performance testing is not yet complete, an increase in horsepower is expected from this exhaust upgrade system.

Not wanting to take any chances, I had my dealer attempt to add, from Quick Order, the (Q9J) Polished Aluminum Wheels with the (WRS) RS Package previously selected and it was accepted with no problem at about 5 P.M. today. So, Scotty, you were evidently also right about the holiday update to the ordering system. Thanks!

He also said 12,000 pre-orders were now submitted ....and admitted how in the dark the dealers had been kept by GM.

And no problem, teamlynn1, you're doing the best you can....with disinformation. Ha!

2SS/RS Black/Black w-Cyber Gray stripes/Auto - ordered 10/18/08 - 20" Polished Aluminums added 12/1/08
