yeah the first thing i did at the scene after the report was pry my emblems off and pull my stereo...i knew it was totaled at that point and yes i actually got tears in my eyes after i saw the extent of the damage...as far as i know everyone is ok. im a little bruised and sore, and got some burn marks from the airbags but other then that im ok. Thanks for all your concern

it kind of depends on the insurance, I still owed alot on the car and they my offer to let me buy it back for about $1500 and i can part it out....but i dont have a place to put it while thats being done, so most likely ill just take my stuff out the i put in and watch it go to the auction to be sold for parts. at least i can get some comfort knowing that the parts will help someone else restore their 4th gen.

that depends on the value of parts and such...my only real market is here and craigslist so......unless theres alot of people on here that need 4th gen parts...
pretty much everything back from the windshield is fine...even the front rims are fine...

Sorry to hear about the car but have you looked into getting it fixed? Reason why I ask is because a kid down the road had a wreck back in the fall and his car looked about as bad as yours and needed to replace everything from the windshield up including the engine and tranny. He found one of the same model and year at a junk yard and got a auto shop to put the good front end on for about $1,500.

I understand, did the drivetrain suffer any great damage? i'm guessing that the radiator is pretty muck toast, but if the engine and tranny are fine, it may be reasonable ot get it fixed, as Mr_Draco suggested...

the shop i went through is very good...they fixed my stepdads Countach, and they said minimum 15k cause the block is cracked and the impact pushed the engine into the firewall...basically they said the would have to cut the front of the car off and replace it with one from a wrecked in the rear car with straight frame rails in the front. im looking at another right now for $6700 and it has t-tops so no all is lost in my Camaro life. hehe

If it is still in your possesion you should switch the rims out with junk yard ones, then put your rims/tires on your new car
