Which the final sales price of the car should cover. If a car stickers for $30k and we agree to a final price of $27.5k +tx&ttl, that $27.5k has enough for all the dealer's profit and their paperwork fees. If not, take that stupid fee off the pre-printed paperwork so you're not making me think I can still get a better deal.

We don't like gimmicks.

Most Corvette Forum dealers do NOT add bs fees. Some do, but more don't.

Guess which ones get more business.

Don't forget to check the BBB reviews for all dealers.

In our state, it has to be seperate. Some states may allow it to be "included" and not visible in your paperwork.

I know of one Corvette forum dealer (#3 in the country, and my former employer) that has a service fee. They are down the road here in Frozen Wisconsin...and they're at $199

So in Wisconsin, it's not a BS fee. Maybe in SOME STATES it is, by some dealers.

So,

1. Are there no dealers in Wis. w/o paperwork fees?

2. Some dealers on CF don't add it at all. GMS or whatever, no fees.

3. I wouldn't argue with a dealer about it, I'd just add it to the bottom line in my own figures, if necessary. But my first choice is the one saying no extra fees.

4. I wouldn't buy from that "other" Wisc. dealer either.

Lets not confuse the $99 "Docs" fee from the $599 thief fee. The thieves down here in south FL charge the doc/paperwork fee of $99 and then $599 "dealer/thief fee"

Damn, the airport is a good drive for me, but no doubt worth saving excess of 2-3k.

I have not ordered mine just yet, I am going to hold off until next summer. Hopefully by then the gouging will ease up a bit. If you dont mind, ill keep in touch with ya about how courtesy treats you come 09. Classic is garbage without a doubt, wanted 2k over msrp when the new body style silverado came out but it would be nice to drive right around the corner to classic if I had issues with the vehicle God forbid...

Here's just one of many, clear, actual examples of a Chevy dealer NOT adding bs fees, and a great deal, too:

2009 Corvette Coupe - In Stock/New, 3 Miles on the Odometer
Jetstream Blue Metallic
Ebony Leather
Package 2LT
6 Speed Manual Transmission
Z51 Performance Handling Pkg
NPP Dual Mode Exhaust

MSRP $53,080
GM Red Tag Price $47,973
Net Dealer Cost $45,691.93

Sale Price $45,575

+ Dealer Prep, Documentation, Process Fees, Etc. $0

Fichtner Chevrolet FINAL PRICE $45,575

Just talked to my dealer today, they have no "thief fee", not sure what you're talking about there. But they do specify a $96 doc fee, is that what you are considering bogus? Plus they said they'd place my order for $500 UNDER MSRP...not too bad!!! They said their allocation was 10, and they've already ordered 11, but for $500 down they would place one more on order for me. The only bad thing is they said they would NOT honor the GM Military Discount for at least the first year. I wonder why? Does the dealership lose out by participating in the Military Discount program? Oh well, still $500 under MSRP is pretty fair at this point.

Alas, unnecessary dealer fees are not limited to GM dealers.

Since your dealer has already exceeded his allocation, then he currently has no idea when he will be allowed to submit the order for your car to GM. The dealer has offered you $500 under MSRP in order to string you along until he is given further allocations, whixch at this point will be intended to cover the last quarter of 2009 (or even later if production of the initial allocated quantities for all dealers gets delayed). The economy will remain depressed throughout 2009 and, once the true enthusiasts get their Camaros, sales may slow to the point where $500 under MSRP is not that great a deal.

Just spoke to the Courtesy Airport Dealer and he does still have Allocations left. He told me $1000 deposit, would guarentee MSRP, agreed to any available insentives and I would have my car in April. If I wanted to wait until they have them on the lot he said they were not getting those cars until September.
