5.0 with LT's and a CAI 390rwhp/340rwt.
LS3 with the same LT's and CAI, 412rwhp /412rwt.
Same dyno, same day, back to back.

SS = Win
5.0 = Close, but no cigar.

SS has a 1:1 gear ratio in 4th,
5.0 is 1:1 in 5th.

Top speed at redline for the SS in 4th 155.
5.0 top speed in 5th 152. 5.0 is a higher reving engine, and still comes up short plus it requires an additional shift to get there.

Take away 400 pounds off the fat SS and it's game over for the 5.0.

If it's the 2010 V6 mustang, you have to take that with a grain of salt. At this point, 202 days supply of 2010 V6s is probably what...500 cars?

I don't know what Ford was thinking when they launched the 2010s without the new engines that everyone knew were coming the next year. I can think of no reason why anyone would take a 2010 over a 2011, unless it was almost free.

Go to cars.com and do a "NEW CARS" search for camaro and mustang and its actually pretty close.

New Camaro's in stock:
'11: 7,012
'10: 2,951
(including new Hennessey's, CALLAWAY's, etc)


New Mustangs's in stock:
'11: 8,174
'10: 1,731
(including new GT500's, SALEEN's, ROUSH's, etc)

Note: these don't represent the actual number of cars out there as not all dealers use cars.com, but they are relative to each other so they can be used to show an accurate distribution percentage of new mustangs vs camaros on dealer lots.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

1. Line that 5.0 up against the same SS on the strip with equal drivers and see who comes out on top. I am guessing that the 5.0 was an auto and the SS was a manual. Dyno means nothing. It is a tool for measurement only.

2. My Mustang is just as easy if not easier to work on than my SS. In fact, the Mustang exhaust work I did was easier than my SS.

I would suggest less opinion and more fact next time.
