I have finally chosen Silver Ice, but I at first ordered a Black. I love black b/c of the shine and looks great with polished wheels..........but I've owned 3 black vehicles and they are hard to keep that shiny thing looking good all the time. Never owned a Silver color and I think this smooth looking car's smooth lines will really be accentuated by it. Silver is the new black for me and I think it's kind of a "sleeper". Not flashy, just simple. I also happen to think that this ICY metallic color will look better than most of the silver cars you see on the road today. Judging by a Silver Caddy CTZ that I see around town, this color is gonna be Bitchin'

I also chose Silver Ice because of the ease of keeping it clean. Of all the pictures of the car, it looks like it was made to be black, looks totally awesome. But I to have owned 3 black cars, having covered a span of close to 20 years. That color is a full time job to look good. It can be kept looking good, and is the best color when it looks good, but man, it is hard work. My wife has a Silverstone Impala which is close to this Silver Ice. It is extremely easy to keep clean and looks awesome in the sun and at night, very classy looking.
I also believe that concepts are premiered in certain colors for a reason. That they show off the lines of the car. I'm sure GM looked at every color before deciding to premier it in Silver. So, Silver Ice for me... |

Black. Because it's juste me. I'm very quiet, but not shy. Subdued, but bold. Gentle, but extremly strong. I like to keep to myself, prefer nighttime and low light. I'm a bit of an enigma to everyone that knows me. There are other colors I think are nice and would garner my attention, but I feel like black just fits me and makes a statement without seeming to try too hard. Add the black wheels and black stripes and everyone will hear me without me having to say a word.

I wanted a "burnt orange" color, like Sunset Orange Metallic, or Atomic Orange, and when I saw Inferno Orange Metallic, I was dissapointed, it didn't fit the bill for me. Cool color, just not what I wanted.
SO I went for Cyber Grey after seeing the ZR1 in person. I love the machined look it gives. No fluff, no attention grabbing, just plain WEAPON!!!

I'm going with a Black 1SS/RS with the polished wheels. Initially I wanted a real dark pure blue. The problem with the Imperial Blue color is how I always see a purplish hue to it around the edges where the sun doesn't hit it directly...oh well. I like the Aqua, (I'm a Miami Dolphin's fan) but not enough to pull the trigger on it. I've only seen the Cyber Gray in person on a Traverse at a car show, and wasn't thrilled with it. It just didn't look like all the Corvette photos we see all the time. If it did, I very well may change my opinion. The Silver Ice is pretty slick, but.... I really don't want this car in white! As far as the other colors go...to me they're too loud. The Red Jewel is very pretty though, and I still think this car just might be made for Yellow!
Any color will look good with this body...I don't doubt that one bit. But the bottom line is, show me a car that looks good in this color or that, and I'll show you one that looks better in Black!!! I've got an old Black T/A, and I still love it!!!!!!!!

I'm waiting for white. You guys are all to young to remember the '69 Camaro pace car- White with orange stripes and trim. My SS will be white with orange hood stripes and inferno orange interior trim & lighting. Apparently it will be rare right off the bat !.

I originally ordered my 2005 Mustang in Satin Silver. At the time, it was really hard to find a Mustang at a dealer, so I went by the pictures in the brochure and on the 'net. About two weeks after I ordered, a co-worker came driving into work with a new Satin Silver Mustang V6, and I was shocked at how dull and gray the paint looked. I immediately re-checked all the local Ford dealerships online to see the dealer stock, and found a place 30 minutes away with 6 different colors. I drove there at lunch and in-person saw Torch Red (non-metallic), Redfire (metallic), Performance White, Screaming Yellow, Legend Lime, and Windveil Blue. It had snowed the day before, so the cars had varying amounts of snow and dirt on them. The Screaming Yellow was easily the most impressive, hiding the dirt well, and standing out like no other car in the lot. I then called up the dealer, asked if it was too late to change colors, and after a bit of resistance from him ("you'll be sorry,"; "wouldn't your rather have stealth?"; etc) he was indeed able to change the order. Like some others here, I'm an old-timer at 53 now (49 when I got the Stang), so it can raise some eyebrows when a 50-something opts for a bright yellow muscle car. I have heard all the comments about midlife crisis. But in my case it's no problem to explain to them that this is no midlife crisis -- I've owned nothing but Camaro Z28s (three) and Mustang GTs (three) since 1980! So for me it's just a continuation of my adolescence, which apparently has never ended... ![]() So to confirm the previous poster's reasons: 1. Yes, yellow is the most rare color on the road, and thus stands out like no other. I can guarantee that combined with the new Camaro body style, this car is going to get stares from EVERYONE as it drives by. 2. Indeed it hides the dirt extremely well, so it still looks good when others don't. Not only that, but yellow just looks like it belongs in a car show. When looking at sporty cars lined up at a cruise event or car show, the more over-the-top cars are the ones that get noticed. A modern bright yellow muscle car looks like a classic even when it's new. But, as I said up front, I have not completely made up my mind to get a yellow SS. I do need to see one in person. And I have to say that once the novelty of a yellow car wears off, there are occasionally times when I wish mine wasn't yellow, believe it or not. You cannot drive in anonymity. My wife is always telling me that so-and-so saw me driving the other day (so hopefully I'm never seen somewhere that I'm not supposed to be ). If you work in an office with conservative types in their silver BMW/Lexus/Infinity/Mercedes sporty coupes, your car might be looked at as an immature choice, and one they'd never be caught dead in (unless they are *real* car guys and get it). And yellow not only stands out to the average Joe on the street, but also to the law enforcement... For me, the pros of owning an intimidating bright yellow muscle car outweighs the cons. However there are cons. And that, coupled with the fact that the Camaro white option might turn out to be a rare color, has me thinking that white would be a great second choice.

I was transplanted to Dallas and I'm from Northern Ky. The Bengals are my team as I'm not a bandwagon jumper plus I really only think there will be a few of these IOM Camaro's running around here. Everyone at work knows I love the Bengals win or lose which we seem to know a lot about. Anyway me buying this car would be awesome to show up at the Super Bowl next year. Okay........I was dreaming there for a minute but as far as I know only one other guy and me are getting the IOM. I'm going with the 2LT RS with the orange trim and I like the way it looks.
I have had plenty of blue's, blacks, and silver cars and it was pretty hard to pick which one I would end up with but it's ordered and I will be getting polished wheels while the other guy on here that I know of is getting black wheels. I'm going to get black rally stripes painted on with a coat or two of clear coat. |

Have silver right now. Didn't want black (all my friends have black cars).
I like the metallic look, so I chose CGM after seeing the vette pics. Otherwise i probably would have picked IBM. |
