the Neiman Marcus edition of anything is overpriced, thats not a surprise. If chevy didn't sell it for $75,000 then Neiman Marcus would just go find another car to sell for a ridiculous price.

IMO these will be a very cool set of 100 cars to watch throughout history. When they pop up at auctions, on ebay, craigslist, autotrader etc.

Just out of curiosity, why does it cost so much to validate a paint? Are they testing for reactions to the body of the car or the elements? I'm just wondering what they do because I never knew it was costly. I'm sure most people just think, hey that color would look nice, lets spray it.

I love the silver/ aluminum around the windshield! It's a real throwback to the roadsters and such that had little more than a chrome frame around the windshield. I woulda done the same!

hehe.. my wife saw the blurbs on that car not too long ago and she came to me and said " I bet no one buys it at 75k ". I said it will sell out in like an hour (100 of them). I missed it by like 57 minutes. lol ... :emoticon7:

Neiman-Marcus puts out a catalog each year at Christmas with a lot of "wish list" items - and those items are of 'luxury' in nature. The person shopping in that catalog in earnest is looking for 'specialty' and uniqueness. That's why Neiman-Marcus does not charge Walmart prices - or, for that matter, Sears prices or Macy's prices.

I do know this: 30 years from now, people will be paying STUPID amounts of money for one of these - as it will be very collectible.
