Mine is a dd, so it's goinna need a re-spray anyway. I'll load up on the clear coat and be golden I also had the reverse sensor stick 3 times, and the 2nd gear crunching. Both have remedied themselves.

Gotta hand it to GM these days... I wonder what it must have been like to pay for a brand new Cavalier station wagon and watch the 2.8 V6 blow a head gasket after 10,000 miles. Ugh, I hated that car... ( MY Bro's car after high school, lol!!!

my car is also a daily driver. I had my front end covered with the 3M Clearshield since day one. needless to say the front end still looks brand new.
too bad I can't say the same for the rest of the car. I have several paint chips on both sides of the rear quarters. freakin' ridiculous...

Isn't it too early to say it's a reliable car?

What bothers me is how in the world Toyota stays near the top. I am a recently reformed Toyota owner and I can say they cover up so much and refuse to fix almost everything that they must be given credit for all the problems they still refuse to own up to. They say the new Prius is less reliable than the old ones, and having owned one of the old ones, I can say that's shocking. They had all kinds of problems that were well known and documented in Toyota technical service bulletins. Every Toyota I've driven had jerky steering, to the point where it really seemed like something was broken. Hopefully people wake up soon or somebody actually investigates them.

Most reliable, quality built, solid riding car I ever had. Especially for a first model years.
Agreed 100%.

There saying initial quality. It will be a few years till long term numbers are considered. Plus, I think a lot of consideration is coming off the success of the CTS which is a fairly close comparison under body.

To me, "reliable" means a history of quality. I honestly don't think one year is enough to say. But still...cool.

You have not paid attention to the fine print
Quote:
1) about FORD & the 'stang: Yes the article indicates that FORD is still the US manufacturer with the highest quality level in their products but specifically indicates which of their cars have got good quality reports and the MUSTANG is not listed there. No wonder, I know of the local crowd of 'stang owners here in my neck of the woods which practically camp outside the FORD dealership : their cars have issues and malfunctions so often there is no point in driving home! 2) distinction between BMW drivers & Mustang owners: This is basic: posession and right of use to most BMW, MERCEDES BENZ Benz and AUDI vehicles are most often derived/obtained from/through leases instead of outright ownership. Most dealers actually offer and promote such plans themselves. It's a worlwide thing. With american cars, mostly american sports cars, the driver/user is most commonly the proud owner (or someone else in his/her household is). Hence the distinction. This observation was made clear to me years ago, so I just pass it on. Good eye of you to spot it, Mr. Clutch! Safe driving, The Flash

You hit the spot!!

I believe I read somewhere that the CAMARO paint finishing is supposed to be composed of two coats of paint and two coats of clear. However, just like you I have a couple of small specks (no more than 2 millimeters wide) where the paint peeled all the way to the base!!! Because of their location I believe they were caused by hits from pebbles while on the road. It hardly looks like two coats of clear + two coats of paint. Then again, if our cars were to have the finishing of say an ASTON MARTIN we'll probably have to shed an additional seven or ten grand for the multilayer paint!! Safe driving, The Flash

I'm happy for GM and the Camaro community. These reports are good news.
I felt like overall, my previous car -- 2010 Camaro 1SS -- was built strong and would withstand the test of time. I've owned 4 Chevys and 2 Mercedes. Chevy: 1. 96' Impala SS 2. 90' Silverado (Vortech supercharged) 3. 98' Tahoe 4. 2010 Camaro 1SS (KB supercharged) Besides the Tahoe's engine and trans needing to be replaced by GM, I've always been a GM fan. The Camaro especially felt like it was built to last. The doors felt so solid. The engine is very durable and powerful. And although the interior is "so-so" IMO, it is clean. |
