Their video, to me, appeared to be edited in such a way as to make it extremely inflammatory.

If it was meant to be informative, they wouldn't have edited it at all.

After reading the heart attack IDL thread and your comments there versus Scotty's and then Scott's follow up thread...

I putting you on ignore. Your information and inferred thoughts about that information are useless.

This was to Camarogreg....whose comments seemed to have gone "poof" thankfully

I feel this way as well. I found myself watching the sections that were shown and dying to hear how the speaker followed up his comments. And in the end I got a COMPLETELY different feeling from the speakers comments verses their interpretation.

Incidentally this whole build out of dealer demo cars is nothing new, as said before they did it with the Sky, and as well many other industries do it. I work for a company that makes consumer electronics that does this all the time, however the manufacturing capacity as well as the complexity and size of the product is much smaller so the customer barely notices the delay. It just takes a hell of a lot more time to make 2,500 cars compared to like say 2,500 DVD players. I just hope the dealers don't scumbag GM by marking them up and selling them like the Sky.

No offence to anyone, but why the big need to know the exact delivery day, some would like to know the hour and minute also. I don't see the need.
A man in Russia went into his car dealer and ordered a car. He had saved five years for the car, and knowing how things worked in Russia he knew it would be a long time before he would be able to take delivery on the car. But anyhow, he asked the dealer "When will my car come in?" The dealer replied, "in three years." Well, said the man, "Can you tell me what month of that year?" The dealer replied, "It looks like it will be in March." "OK" replied the man. "Can you tell me what day of the month it will arrive?" Starting to show some discomfort the dealer replied, "Maybe the 12th." Giving it some thought, the man asked, "What time of the 12th will it arrive?" Now the dealer had had enough and finally asked, "You are waiting three years for the car, why does the time of day make any difference?" The man replied, "Well, I have a plumber coming in on the afternoon of that day and I want to know if there will be a problem!"

Morel (sp?) of the story . . .
If you don't have a plumber coming on any particular day this year, don't worry about the date of delivery! It will come and you will forget all about this delivery thing. Also, thank God you don’t live in Russia!

Long Live Camaro!

First off thank you very much for once again sharing some great info Scotty. But I have one question about orders being entered into the production queue. Does DOSP mean the dealer must manually send in an order on whatever day it comes out to be, or do sold orders just get sent in automatically? Just wondering if I need to call my dealer to make sure he gets it in as soon as he is allowed to.

And I don't mean to fuel the fire or anything but why even talk about constraining the V6 orders? GM will handle it as they see fit, in a fair and efficient manner so just stop worrying about it. IMO they should build the dealer V6's first, then do a 84/16 SS split or whatever the pre-order V8/V6 ratio is, not pentalize the V6 people.
