that's the running consensus right now, but since we don't have any production ABL systems out, we can't really test that theory

Yeah I think it looks sharp. And yeah as zebra said we can think of nothing else that scroll wheel button thing would control.

That's my belief. I'm sure most pics of the non-RS models still have the fog light logo in the middle of the headlight switch. Plus, from one of those pictures, I can see I'll have to disable the DRLs on this car too.

hmm, no non-RS models might actually have a different lighting control assembly?

might make my modifications a lil more difficult, we shall see...

Here is the controls as they were on a show car about a few weeks ago. I think this is how they are.

..... neither video shows the car in "drive" while the halos are on by themselves.

DRL's are engaged when the car is put into "drive".

... at least thats how they are on my 2001 Impala

my guess is ... you put it in drive, and the fogs come on.

After studying this closely the last week or two since I found out about this snaffu at the Cleveland Auto Show, I have some ideas. See what you think:

There are two dimmer switch assemblies, one for RS equiped cars and one for non-RS equiped. The non-RS equiped cars have the foglight switch button in the middle and RS-equipped cars do not. If your car has the RS package, buy the dimmer switch assembly for the NON-RS equiped cars at your dealer. They appear very, very similar to the dimmer switch on my Mom's 2007 Buick Lucerne, and if they are anything like it they are easy to remove and install (I accidentally bumped my knee into it getting in one time and shoved the switch assembly back into the dashboard).

Next, I would be willing to bet a steak that the lamp wirinig, fuse and relay boxes, and computer controls for every Camaro are the same, only just missing the appropriate fuses and/or relays based on if you have the RS or not.

Get the non-RS switch assembly, remove the DRL relay and or fuse, install the fuse and or relay for the fog lights with the proper amperage rating into the proper receptacle, and voila! HIDs, halos, and fog lamps without cutting wires, hacking, or splicing!

I'd be willing to bet the same about the wiring systems. The fuse boxes should be the same, just missing fuses for certain items (HID ignitors, halos, etc.). The relays are now housed under the hood in a plastic box. I'd love to get a 2SS/RS myself, so I'd only need to pull the DRL fuse or relay.

Hi all when i went to the fort lauderdale autoshow they let me play with the light. the first click was the halos, the second was full headlamps. So yes its easy to have just the halos on.

I believe the halos come on with the parking lamps, which is the first click on the switch. I do not believe you can have only the halos on without any other lights. Pretty sure this was verified by fbodfather at the Philly auto show. I don't think it's necessary to have a separate button/switch that turns on JUST the halos. I could be wrong, but this scenario seems to make the most sense to me...

I think the second dimmer you refer to is for the ambient lighting....
