It shows pretty much anything you want. However, it's not always obvious from the name the author gives some of the functions.

I've been using it for about a month. It seems accurate, but some of the data seems delayed. There is a datalogging feature, where you can tell it to log anything you want. I have it log time, RPM, Speed, Timing, Coolant temp, airflow, IAT, and GPS data.

The timing, airflow and RPM seem delayed compared to each other (i.e. RPM goes up, timing changes 1/10 of a sec after, and Airflow changes 1/10 after that.) Or maybe that's the realtime delay in the engine. I'm not sure.

One thing for sure. 87 gas pulls timing and the engine keeps trying to add, so you see 22 degrees, 44 degrees, 12 degrees, 35 degress, etc. on 93 octane, the degrees go up as the RPM goes up, steady and consistent.

Lol.. you know what pisses me off? Half the people say the OBDII port is faulty, the other half says its good. I have a dashhawk, good little device. I post my 0-60 time on it, and people say the Dashhawk isn't accurate, just because I'm fast. YOu have no idea how many Mazda/Honda people post on my youtube channel saying "That's not possible"

LOL. Anyway, I have the dashhawk, and I'm going to try out iPhones Dynolicious side by side. To compare the numbers lol. I think this would make for an interesting experiment. =p

I owned a jail broke 2G & 3G, and currently a HTC Dinc. I think Apple phones are crap.... especially paired with AT&T. Never had promised speeds = big sales gimick, or could keep a conversation from dropping. HTC/Android is the future IMHO.

I have this and another great alternative I just purchased is a ultragauge. Doesn't datalog but has instentanious fuel economy along with everything else torque does but without any delay. I use the bluetooth adapter now to hop from my other cars and the ultragauge installed in the camaro.

Sorry to bring this up from the dead, but I'm still trying to figure this app out.

I do not have AFR Measured as a green option, only commanded AFR. Is there a way to see the AFR realtime with this app and a stock 1SS?

I finally got myself an Android phone (Galaxy S2) and I plan to install this app soon. I have asked the above question myself a time or two before, and from what I understand, it is not possible to get realtime AFR with these types of devices...only commanded AFR.

You can, you just need to find the PID. That is the difficult part about it.

I see an option in Torque for "AFR Measured" in green that I selected and added a graph. Did you get the free app? I paid the $5 and it's available.

you can't read the actual AFR through obd2 without installing a wideband meter period! It will show you the AFR but the AFR you are seeing is the commanded AFR on open loop and closed loop, wot, and etc..

I hope you guys are using obd link, kiwi wifi or better with torque app. If you have a iphone, I heard that dynoliciaous is a good program.

OK, so I've posted a few questions about this app on the Torque forum. The admin there was pretty quick to respond and he had this to say:

Quote:
Hi!

Accelerometers aren’t used for any of the speed/hp calculations. The app uses the direct readings from the measured speed from the vehicles engine management (and GPS is used to validate the readings)

The cheap adapters can suffer from ‘error counts’ which will be visible in the ‘adapter status’ screen in the full app. Typically, a good adapter should have an error count of 0 (anything other than this means it’s faulty and should be replaced). This can cause issues where it will affect the accuracy of results on faulty adapters.

The more expensive adapters are better built, and are tested before they are being sent out, ones like the scantool OBDLink are quicker at retrieving sensor information, but sensor retrieval speed also depends on the ECU. One thing to look out for is that the more sensors you are reading/logging, the longer a particular sensor takes to be polled.

The OBD speed read from the ECU is typically to within 0.2mph of actual speed (you can verify this by travelling at a constant speed with the GPS speed vs OBD speed widget). Ignore the speedometer as they are all typically calibrated ~ +6% to read faster than your actual speed
Quote:
Hi!

Weight is needed purely to calculate the HP of the vehicle not for the 0-60 or quarter mile(etc) runs

Generally, people get about 10-15 PIDs/sec.

There is a ‘Faster Communication’ option in the settings. It is not enabled by default as some faulty adapters don’t work well with the setting. You will want to make sure this option is enabled in the settings as it makes a big difference to read speeds

The ‘Lag’ can be put down to the following things:

* Faulty adapters (any adapter with a ‘error count’ above 0 should be replaced).

* People trying to log far too many sensors. (10 PIDs/sec means if you are logging 10 sensors, you get a complete refresh once per second)

* Not enabling the ‘faster communication’ setting (which in some cases significantly increases the speed at which PIDs can be read

* The type of adapter used. (For example, The ScanTool.net OBDLink adapter is consistently faster than all the other adapters at reading the most PIDs/sec and the OBDKey can be slow in some ECU setups).

So, for a read speed of 10PIDs/sec, you can read one sensor 10 times a second.

Question

Need help here with this Lg Phoenix android phone and the torque app.I when to the market for apps on my phone. Went to categories then to transportation and found the widget for torque lite obd2 & car app and down loaded it and the screen says it is installed. Went the choose app to place on home screen it says, torque big, torque small, torque odb toggle.
I entered torque small, it went to a screen and told me application not installed to go to market place and buy it. I enter the torque toggle an it put it on the home screen But all that does nothing. So went back an got the free torque obd check So why can i not get the one i paid for to work?
or is the free one OK? It has a lot of gages to select from. So if i keep the free one then all i need is the obd blue tooth for the car? help me out here???? Does all this make sense??

You downloaded the free version. You need to search for torque in the marketplace and download the paid version.
