Not bad at all.

Do you want it to cycle continuously, or just be selectable between any color?

It means when your bowtie is on it's one brightness, when the brake is applied it gets brighter as if it were a brake light. This option is only available with the RED bowtie (unless used for show purposes only) as it is illegal to have a brake light be any color other than red. That is why we have been discussing the dual color bowtie, one color of your choice then when the brakes are applied that color turns off and the red ones come on.

Color shift requires RGB (Red, Green, Blue) SMD/LED's etc. and a module that will cycle the colors. In order to do that you would have to have the Red only lights with the RGB lights. The relay would have to shut off the color shift and activate the red. It can be done but it's more involved and more expensive I am sure. The RGB LED's are more expensive, and depending on the type of controller you buy for them that could be cheap to really pricey, depending on whether your just doing the bowtie, or if you plan to integrate other lights to color shift with it in unison. But the real question is whether or not AAC would be able to do this for you. Again I am sure it would probably be more expensive then the standard unit, it's more involved for sure. But to answer the question simply, yes it can be done if you can do it with two distinct colors. So if AAC won't be able to do it you would have to do it yourself. I use to do stuff like this but got tired of doing it all myself. That's why I prefer to just buy it done for me, much easier, plus when I was working I never had time to do it, let alone time to install the stuff HAA. But now I have the time but no money... funny how that switches on you like that.

Roger thanks for the heads up
