I had considered the obx because they are cheaper myself but I'm glad I went with kooks. The look of these headers is great and the fit was perfect. I saved up a little cash on the side for 2 months to get these. I feel safe knowing I'm running quality American parts and I live paycheck to paycheck just like everyone else.

The Challenger running an 13.6 is only keeping up with a stock auto... not that impresive.

And we already know every new mustang is the end all be all of the Camaro blah blah blah... If the Camaro under performs then how did I go to the track tonight and beat the 5.0s that were there. Sure, the videos on YouTube show mustangs on drag radials, with exhaust and tuned and god know what else goin 11s but put an average 5.0 up against an equally modded SS and watch what happens. Im uploading the videos of just that right now.

As for the Camaro not being a family car, thats odd, I have a car seat in the back seat of mine that my little girl rides in.

As for cost, you probably got suckered into paying 5k over sticker for your SS, the GT is a low option car, and they have to give the pawpaw RT's away.

What is there to dissagree with in the OP? They are showing the pictures side by side. The quality of the Kooks header IS ALOT better then the knock off. Sure, they may make the same gains, but how long before they rot away? Nowhere did they say the Kooks had better gains. They admited that it hasnt been tested side by side but the quality is right in front of you. That is the whole point. In MY PERSONAL OPINION, I am not going to buy a nice car and throw some cheap looking, offbrand parts at it just to say it makes x-amount of power. If I had like an '82 S-10 that was strictly a track truck that I was throwing together, then sure, give me the $400 headers. Quality, customer service, georgous looks and pretty much gauranteed good performance are worth the extra price in my opinion. If the guys that bought the knock offs for thier Camaros are happy with them then great, but the facts that Maryland speed pointed out are facts. They never said people didnt have the choice.

I suppose you haven't seen the SS's run at our track:

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110185

Challenger deserves it's credit. I wrote it off in the past but have become a believer. It had a booster seat in the back during this run. Take into account a race weight of 4,200lbs. with me in it and you bet it is damn impressive.

My mods are in my video. CAI, O/R x-pipe, tune, muffler delete. That is it for power adders. I am running ET Streets on the back with the factory 3.73. I would be happy to line up against a SS with the same mods. Nothing hidden, no secrets.

We could not fit our kids and the dog carrier in the SS or the Mustang. The Challenger had more than enough to fit everyone so we can travel without issue. The trunk is also much larger.

Not at all. $31K for the Camaro as a 1SS with no options. $28K for the Mustang GT with the 3.73 as the only option. $28K for the Challenger with Sunroof, Boston Acoustics stereo, 20" chrome rims, and hood to fender stripes. All brand new.

Both headers are made of 304 stainless so they will not "rot away". Your opinion is subjective.

damn your arguments are so biased. lol at your price comparisons. lol at you comparing your 13.6 run in the challenger to what all local ss's run. I'm pretty sure even the simplest of drivers could mash an auto ss to much faster then that. your stang puts down good times, and your challenger puts down good times for what it is (the new 392 sure is going to whoop some SS booty, though).. but your arguments always run such an anti camaro basis, no point in trying to have a conversation when you have so much dislike pent up for it.

at least the other stang drivers on the forums are pretty factual, you seem to bend numbers to your will.

how is this getting so off topic, anyways?

I hope this picture comparison puts the 'you can only bend header pipes so many ways, it's not a direct copy!' argument to a rest. now they can only fall back on hp gained per dollar.. : )

Not anti-Camaro at all. I am fed up with the BS that spews from their owners.

Back OT. I have made the necessary points.

If you are so "fed up", then why don't you do us all a favor and just go away. I'm trying to figure out who appointed you the official C5 BS moderator anyway.

I agree with Never Satisfied 100% Take your bloated pig and stripper car and be on your merry way. I looked at fully optioned versions of all three cars at the end of last year and the Camaro was the clear winner. The mustang was too small and the srt-8 was over $40,000. Go preach to the mustang and challenger (oink) forums.

Thank you Maryland Speed for posting the side by side photos. Not that I needed conformation, but I'm sure your post will shed some light for others.

Kooks headers are going on my car when it's time to buy them. To each it's own. Thanks Maryland Speed for the headers comparison even though I was getting Kooks anyway One phase at at time for me. Got the justice package from pedders so next is a good exhaust

Thanks for taking the time for the pics and write up Marylandspeed. Now if your not going to use those Chinese headers I will take them off your hands for you.

Thanks OP for taking the time to photograph and post for us to see. You are correct, most of us would never see both sets side-by-side like that. When shopping for headers and exhaust last February, I weighed the options and decided the Kooks complete system was the right choice for me. The fact that they are crafted right here in NC and their customer service is exceptional was an added bonus.
