Then the conversation got a little twisted with remote start via the keyfob. Those with a 2LT or 2SS with the L99 engine and automatic transmission will have remote start via the keyfob. It will function no differently than any other GM product with factory remote start; push and hold button (push button 2x on some)- car starts- release button. |

personally, i'd rather not have it. it's just more electronics to add weight & eventually have to fix. the Challenger on TopGear has a more basic system than GM cars, so that's why he could get as far as he did. either way, i'd still rather have a hard key.

maybe with a carburetor, but with all the computer controls, i'd say it's a little harder to flood your engine nowadays.

How in the world are you doing that? Are you stepping on the gas pedal when you turn the key like you would in a carb'd vehicle? If so DON'T. The fuel injection handles all that for you. I've never heard of a fuel injected car flooding unless there is something wrong with the plugs.

that's cause the make up of a rotary engine is entirely different from a push rod v8.
for example, it's actually good for a rotary to red line and maybe a bit above that (which is nuts cause some go up to 15krpm) |

See what the vette boys have to say about it at digitalcorvettes.com. The car battery goes dead quickly when the car isnt used. Something about the proximity detector being on all the time wearing the battery down.

Actually,
DBS or Dead Battery Syndrome, plagued the 2005 Corvette specifically. It is not related to the push-button starter switch. GM did some crazy thing where if the car was not left in reverse (manual trans), the battery would drain quickly. That had a recall and was fixed. The other issue is, the Vettes suck a lot of power, just sitting. The multiple on-board computers use a lot of keep-alive power. Some owners had a Fob too near the vehicle which activates the Vette's entrance mode, draining the battery as well. Many Vette owners only take them out every 2 or 3 weeks or more. The few daily drivers do not have an isssue. If your Camaro is going to sit through winter, or even a week at a time, buy a Battery Tender from Amazon. I bought one for my Corvette and it's awesome. The fix is a Battery Tender, charging device.

Well according to #3 posts we do get remote start. Its just like push start except you put you key in once you get in the car.
