Just the rocking side to side, which I just put it in neutral when I am at the stoplight for a longer amount of time than usual or when the car hits the dynamic side to side motion. I don't have to press on the brake pedal any harder than before the converter and cam.
I have the same setup as you except I have a 2c cam and stock converter. I get a bit of the rocking even with the 2c. It sort of hits a resonance and gets into the rocking at times, but most of the time it is just a bit of shake. I still imagine the 2r cam is worse. IMO the 2c is a great cam and a pretty minor trade-off for the power and sound. I'm sure you will get used to it.

Do you know what your idle speed is set to? Mine is ~745 RPM. I do get a bit of push with the stock converter. Nothing too bad, but it does require a bit of extra pedal pressure on the brakes. It will drive right up my rhino ramps without gas though. It is a bit annoying, but only when I'm looking for it. My wife drives the car and she hasn't said anything.

How does the new converter feel to you? Much different than stock? I'm curious what your city MPG's will be. I have sort of been interested in a new converter but I don't want to kill my city MPG. I do a good amount of city driving and this is my daily driver.

Right now (with my snow tires) I can do about 20.5 MPG on the highway. City is close to 10-11 MPG. It was a few MPG better before it got cold and I put winter tires on though. Sounds like you are close to that.

I appreciate the feedback. Glad to hear your car has some of the same characteristics. So, no regrets whats so ever now.

Idle speed is somewhere between 800-1000 RPM. However, hard to really tell with the wide needle GM installed.

I bet that's scary driving the car up on ramps now.
I was able to get 19.5 MPG on the highway coming back from Michigan. So far, I am still on my first tank, while driving around town. Been sick with the flu for about a week now and haven't been able to drive it as much as I like to have done since getting back from Michigan. Current reading says 8 MPG, but I do have a half tank left. So, like you, maybe 10-11 once I run the tank out. The car has been doing a lot of idling(letting people listen too it), so hopefully it will improve some now that the requests are now getting much less. Thanks again for the post!!

Almost forgot to answer your question on the Converter. I don't notice any negative effects. I think that the car has benefited from it. The car really shifts through the gears quickly and smoothly now. Livernois said I really didn't need to change the gearing in the rear end with the Converter that I have, so that saves me some money.

my car is going to livernois in the next few weeks.........i'm getting the 2C cam....i am wondering from all the responses if i should get a high stall tc?? i'm a little concerned about extra brake pressure. i have read performance wise a high stall will really accelerate good.

No extra brake pressure with the PI 2600 Converter that Livernois installed in my car. Hope this helps.

Okay, I just ran through a tank of gas(all stop and go, short distance, some long idles, and just plain ole getting into the throttle) since installing the cam, converter, and headers. And tuned of course. The computer said 9 mpg, but I did not write the numbers down to compare with a hand calculation. I'll do that on this new tank of gas and post up the results.

However, the last time(many miles ago) I did several comparisons, the hand calculations always seemed better than what the reading gave from the computer. Usually, 1-3 mpg better. Anybody know why?

This is my DD and I would say it is certainly something you can live with (I do). If you want the high stall it would probably be a great excuse to get one. I can see why they would recommend it for the 2r cam though.

Down the road this is something I might consider. I'm not sure if it would require an additional trans cooler. I'm guessing it does.

9 isn't too bad considering how you drove it. I usually calculate a reading somewhere between 0-1 MPG LOWER than the dash read out. I'm not sure why it would vary so much though. I'm guessing it uses the injector pulse width to determine how much fuel is being used.

UPDATE on gas mileage.

Just ran through another tank of gas. Computer said 9.8 mpg. Hand calculation came out to 10.9 mpg. I did get on it some(could not help myself), but not as much as I did on the last tank. Again, mostly short distance/stop & go type of driving. Is there any larger tanks out there in the aftermarket?
