This is looking more and more like a prelude to the Z/28 in my opinion.
ENJOY!!!

I have always thought the same thing.......
But, I really don't want it to.... this coming from a ZL575 owner.

Fools gold, I'm not sold. FAIL

No Upgrade package for this car should ever exceed $10k.

Cool car, but these stats for 585HP/550TQ are not all that fast. This should be a 10 second car. Such a shame that the weight of these cars holds back their potential. Expensive too.

These are pretty impressive times to say the least... look at the extra weight that is already tacked onto what is heavy car now. These are corvette 1/4 numbers..... with 1000+ lbs of additional weight... take as an example... for every 100lbs = 1/10th on the 1320. So to say its not impressive isn't an understatement, but its VERY respectable compared to cars with equal power and a hell of lot lighter.

Seen them in person. Not really impressed. SLP is way too proud of this car.. It's certainly not worth the $$ they're asking for it..

I think the write up stated that the rear tires were 295/30r20. I run 295s on my 10" wide CCW wheels on my V and that size fits right in with the recommended widths for a 10" wide wheel.

I still don't know how they achieved that great of a 0-60 time with only having 295s and street tires (even though the PS2 are awesome...but insanely overpriced).

It is strange, because I think the best 60' I've seen on a V2 V (it was an A6) was like a 1.8 60'. That car was heavier, but I'm a little skeptical of that 0-60. The last test they ran on the 575 was on DRs if I remember right, so maybe they did that this time but just didn't mention it If that is what it is, then GREAT!

Are they over-priced because they don't deliver, or are they just great tires that cost A LOT? I know they flat-out perform I bet they could get 305s on those 10s pretty easy though. They've gotta' be either of those though from what I can see in the video.

Yeah, I hear ya on the 60' times, and something does seem a bit off on these times, but I hope they are correct, and repeatable on the street. Anything under 4 seconds 0-60 is stellar in my book.

PS2s-- I kindof have a thing against them. I haven't priced them out lately, but I remember from about 3 years ago a 295/30r19 being something like $430 per tire. That is just ridiculous. Those prices are almost 2x what other comparable tires cost. You can get r-compound tires for much less. I personally run Toyo T1-Rs, and while they might not perform quite as good as the PS2s, they also cost about half (and the Michelins for sure don't perform twice as good).

I just know that there are so many other great tire choices out there, a person shouldn't have to spend over $400 per tire on something that is going to wear out in 15,000 miles anyway. My thing is, buy a great summer tire for the street (but at reasonable costs) and then get dedicated track tires, whether they be drag radials or r-comps or full slicks (even better), that way you don't really have to compromise on tire vs. cost vs. performance. Real life here, I can get a set of summer tires and a set of sticky road race tires for roughly the same price as a set of PS2s. The downside (if there is one) to my way of doing things is you have to have 2 sets of wheels.

P.S. I added some more stuff to my post while you were responding...oops.

Hmm... Thank you for your comments. Aren't Pirellis pretty similar, but not as sticky? I know, at least for me, I'd like a tire I can drive in the rain without worry, but would love to be able to take to the track when it's dry. Dont' get me wrong - it's not like I can afford the PS2s anyways, but if they could come standard on the car, I think it's a good starting point, no? I completely hear you on the price though - no disagreement in the least

I've never had Pirellis, so not sure on those.

As for stock tires, the PS2s would be an awesome starting point and great all-around performer (street, track, dry, wet), and I think GM should start offering those on all their performance cars. But, I would switch to a different tire after they wore out for the reasons stated in my previous post.

Also, I believe Michelin is coming out with a new PSS (Pilot Super Sport), and I think that might take the place of the PS2 and bridge the performance gap between the street PS2s and the track-only Pilot Cups. They are supposed to be freaking sweet, but of course, they will charge an arm and a leg for them.
