I've had my car egged and rocks thrown at it. Door dings when I park nowhere near anyone else. I've had trashbags tossed on top of it too.

I seem to find that Toyota Corolla drivers are the worst. I don't know what it is, but every one I encounter drives like an idiot regardless of what I'm driving.

Yesterday, I was tailgated by one at 80mph. When I let him pass, he slowed to ~60 and created a rolling roadblock. The minute I passed him, he went right back up to 80. After I passed a couple cars, he started doing the same thing to them. The minute I got away, I set the cruise for 73 and never saw him again.

I don't know. It happened to me in my Avenger, happens in the Camaro and happens when I drive one of the boring Impalas at work. People just can't stay in their lane, keep constant speed, or look before changing lanes. I bet New York would have %20 fewer drivers if they required roadtests every 8 years.

A person's choice in a vehicle to own becomes an extension of yourself. Much can be inferred about a person by the kind of car they drive. As mentioned, someone referred to Prius and Subaru driver's as "granola eating'. We can generalize about the income levels, gender, education, employment status, marital status, number of children, hygiene, age and other demographics about the driver just by looking at the car they drive.
Obviously this does not work in all cases, Some cars are not driven by their owners. Company, rental and borrowed vehicles come to mind. Basically people choose a vehicle to own because it makes a "statement" to others about themselves.
Same goes for Camaro owners. Please don't take what I am about to say as disrespect to Camaro owners. I am a Chevrolet enthusiast and a die-hard Camaro supporter by heart. But ask yourself why you bought a Camaro in the first place. It looks good and you want to be noticed. It is distinctive and it has a lot of performance. You are single, you are probably young and probably don't have children. You are not concerned about fuel mileage or high insurance costs. You realize the Camaro is a little impractical but you are willing to accept those trade-offs for the Camaro driving expereince. You probably spent too much money on a car that that has more power than it needs while only carrying two people comfortably. You understand the styling of the Camaro compromises it's utility and practicality. You probably like to exceed the speed limit and like to street race. You like to modify your car to make it more distinctive and noticeable. You take your driving seriously but you take risks too. You aren't too concerned about the politics of our dependence on foreign oil or the so called greenhouse gas emissions.
As seen in other posts, some Camaro owners think their cars attract cops and tickets.
So when you drive your Camaro out on the public roadways, be aware other people are watching you. You are driving a rolling billboard about you and your personality. People in other cars may judge you, stereotype you and profile you based on the car you choose to own. Some of those opinions may be some of the ones I mentioned. Some of those driver's may not agree your choice of car was the best in their opinion. Basically it comes down to class warfare and jealously.
We live in a high control society where our freedoms are being threatened by many fronts. The Camaro is at odds in the court of public opinion. This could be the reason why many members report having their cars keyed.
Unfortunately the future is bleak in my opinion. If the government has their way will all be driving tan, four door sedans shaped like a vitamin pill.

Same thing with my old truck, straight pipes and big mud tires. It's all in good fun to be a little different from the pack.

The only solution is to practice defensive driving techniques constantly. Always leave a full 2 seconds of space between the front of your car and the back of the car ahead of you. And always make sure you have a clear path either to your left or right, or plenty of room behind you at all times so you can feel safe slamming on the brakes, or swerving left or right if you absolutely had to. And always be aware of where your "safe" zones are at.

Then, when some jack-wagon goes past you on the right and then cuts you off, you know you've got room to avoid him no matter what.

People will always amaze you, there's no point in getting worked up over it. Just avoid, say a few choice words under your breath, and then forget about it and move on.

When I drop off my third grader all the sixth through eighth grade boys do a 'we are not worthy' bow...

it's kind of fun and more typical of the responses I have gotten...

Maybe I don't drive my Camaro enough to experience this. I only put about 3K miles a year on mine.

I can't say I haven't had someone cut in front of me or do something stupid while driving my Camaro, but it doesn't seem any more often than when I'm driving any other car.

I have a CC license and keep a loaded 40cal in my center console in case anything gets really out of control!

What part of the Northway did it happen on?

There is something about the car that makes some people become assholish, for me it appears most BMW folks have an issue with our cars and when I do get cut off it is usually a BMW (ok just kidding) But you do get less folks being kind on the road as you would with other cars. The Good news is you do have the Power and ability to leave most of as a memory !
LoL good one.

No, in fact I get lots of thumbs up and positive remarks on mine. Well, there's lots of idiots out there doing plenty of stupid things on the streets but I don't feel like they are directing their stupidity at me

It's a funny thing when driving this car. You get people slowing down for you because they want to have a closer look at the car, then you get the people like the OP talked about. I've dealt with both... when im in a good mood, they can cut me off all they want, I'm just driving. Just do be careful when you drive though.
