I agree to a point, and truely can't remember pulling over for it specifically. I think you would agree though, that if you pulled someone over and gave them a warning, it would definitely be time to ramp up the punishment (first time warning-- second time a ticket) if you saw that person a few days later and the problem was not taken care of like you asked.

Whoa!! What state are you in so I know never to live there, especialy in the summer lol.

Edit: So you are only allow to tint the back window?? That sucks.

I find it interesting that none of the forum sponsors who supply tail and headlight tints have chimed in on this of all threads. I was thinking of tinting my tails with something really subtle this spring but I'm starting to wonder if I should reconsider. Tickets are easy to pay and remove the tint if it's a touchy situation where you live, but the liability in the case of an accident.... I can't believe I never thought of that. That's big time...

I'm in DE and thats correct only the back window and if its a 4 door vehicle the rear seat windows not front driver or passenger without a medical waiver. Someone thought it was too much trouble to have to carry around expensive meters to measure tint %. "OK lets make it easy now its no tint whatsoever without a waiver." I'm not complaining its easier for me to enforce then. (i'm not hard on it though)

For looks they look cool. As far as safety, get real. It is hard as heck to see them in the day time, or a foggy and rainy night. Do everyone around you a service and leave them alone.

I wish that car makers made the break lights flash real fast like the ones I see on here from the aftermarket. They at least get your attention real quick if you lost the attention span even briefly.

I also hate red turn signals on a car. It blends into the brake lights in certain lighting situations.

Are your tail lights tinted? Yes? You're at fault. Tinting the 3rd brake light is the same as tinting tail lights.

Yes.

The first thing a jury decides on is the dollar amount of the claim. The second is the blame allocation. If the damages are $1,000,000, and you are found 'only' 25% responsible, then your insurance company pays $250,000 (If you don't have insurance, then YOU pay).

You don't think it will be easy to apportion 25% blame to a guy who messed around with any of his factory DOT approved headlights?

When it comes to lighting accessories, I always look for "DOT approved in 50 states" so I cannot be blamed.

for head and tail lights get the GTS covers. that way you can remove them and put them on at will. the tint is too permanent.
