This go's back to what I said on my forum to somebody that asked me why I would use a stock longblock to build a monster. That car does not have an ounce of the ZL-1's blood running through it's vains! We are talking about a car that until the ZR1 was released it was the highest rated hp you could get in any american car produced prior to the release of the ZR1!( and i'm not talking about any american wanna be exotics) This car with a pair of bias slicks and open headers would run mid to high 10's! That is in an all steel body as well. The ZL-1 was feared by all! not only in th usa but also in the rest of the performance world back in 1969. IMO. This car is a Z/28 with differant badging! It is a cheap attempt at chevy to capitalize on market shares and desicrate a car's memory that until now was the most feared over 600hp nightmare that had every body else in the industery saying WTF? back in 1969! To me it does not even matter that they did not use the cars name sake motor. but 550hp? Really! most of us that are planning any mods can do that with any S/C. Or a healthy Cam and a 200 shot of nos. My concept 2010 ZL-1 is all bolt on and is 628/541 on a load bearing (Mustang) dyno to the wheel and on a enercia dyno-jet is 714/648 and runs mid 10's! not bad for a 4160lb Camaro (wet with driver) and those numbers are not even with the 75 shot I have in the car! Sorry for the rant but being a diehard fan of the 1969 ZL-1, there crude attempt to make what they called a Super Car fell way short in my book. The anything for a buck B.S. has just got to stop with the automakers. I will be reveiling My car after its final testing at Palm Beach Motor Speedway this week end so the numbers match the build. Again sorry for the rant.

I'm with you. Before too long GM will change platforms again which will produce an overall better performer than this ZL1 at a lower price.
