While it's true that NJ has the highest Auto Insurance Rates, it's not really as bad as it seems from your post. For someone under 25 what you said is quite true.

How old are you? After I turned 25 my insurance dropped drastically.

Take into account I work for the NJ Dept. of Corrections so have access to NJM Inusrance Co. (though a lot of non-state jobs have access also, ask your employer if they have access to NJM). But I was paying $1000 a year 6 years ago (I was 28) on my '02 V6 Camaro. My Aveo is about $800 a year. And my limits are generally on the higher side (I forget exact, but they're in the hundred's of thousands. 100,000/300,000 comes to mind for part of it.)

I expect my new SS to be $1400 at most.

I've got the quote on paper if you'd like a picture of it, I have a flawless record. plus Im a year older and state farm gives a discount @ 23 yrs old. Plus if you are in college you could qualify for student discount most likely.

Just talked to my insurance agent down here in Orlando Florida she quoted me on the v6 $959 a year through my carrier Met Life. I'm 46 with a safe driving record. This is about the same I pay on my Monte now and other issurance carries have quoted me up to $300 less for that but I really don't trust them plus Met takes direct from my pay weekly. That is a convience I pay for I guess.

That's about the same I was quoted.

24 years old (getting ready to turn 25), 100% perfect record, State Farm as well.

2SS - roughly $100 a month
2LT - roughly $85 a month

My agent said that those numbers will be +/- $5

when i was looking into the challenger r/t i was quoted $850 / 6mo from an allstate agent and $1400 from my progressive agent. 100/300/50, $500 deductable. i would guess the V6 camaro should be less than that.

25yo, clean record, but only have my license for about three years now.

Do they finally have the Camaro in the system, or is this still based off the Mustang?

Wow, you guys are good! I'm a State Farm agent and have been checking to see if the new Camaro has been posted yet, sure enough it has! My 6 month rate will be a little over $25.00 higher than the 2008 HHR I currently have insured.

Looks like location plays a huge role. I turn 25 in June, also perfect record.

SS - $230 a month for basic

Maybe some of you guys know this, maybe not..

Your FICO score also has an impact on your rate. I have a 749 FICO right now. I had my same agent run me when I had a 690 and the rate was $170 higher, 6 month. As well, your best bet is to have your house, cars and whatever else insured with the same company. I don't know if it matters, but I initially saved $480 a year by switching to an exclusive agent, but my rated dropped yet again when I was up for renewal and my FICO score increased. That saved me another $17 a month on the T/A and $12 a month on the Harley. So by having an increase in my FICO score of 58 saved me a total of $828 a year. My SS policy will be $419, 6 month, $69 a month, full coverage.

Insurance companies have a similar scoring. You could have two people, same car, same state, same driving history in length and 0 points. "A" has a credit score 650, "B" 780. 780 will pay much much less, common sense.

I suggest having your FICO score checked to get the best insurance rates at time of initial policy. If it is bad now, you can improve it by the time car is delivered. I pay $80 a year to monitor my credit and accounts at www.myfico.com. Great tool to have to call insurance companies to adjust rates, credit card companies to lower APR and have a printout when shopping for an auto loan.

Depends on where you live. The big cities I've noticed have it in the system but the small towns don't.

I've just went to all the major insurance websites...state farm was the only site that had it as an option for me.
