The SS will easily blow the Challenger R/T away. According to Road and Track's Challenger R/T review (0-60 in 6.2 seconds), the R/T might not beat a V6 Camaro!

Now the Challenger SRT is a different story, but the original poster said he was looking at the R/T.

Motortrend has the RT at 5.5 in the 0-60 range, and I have seen it listed as low as 5.1.

Like the above poster said..they are just numbers.

And I would like to see a V6 Camaro beat the V8 Chally...ain't gonna happen. Not even close.

Yeah I'm sure you're right that the V6 Camaro won't beat the Challenger R/T at 376hp. I went back and re-read the short Road and Track R/T test, and they blamed the bad 0-60 result on gearing: they claimed they had to shift into 3rd before 60 mph, costing them a lot. Possibly the Motor Trend car had a different axle?

Well, I just drove a Challenger Rt. Beautiful car, six speed, lots of get up and go...BUT.....damn it was heavy. Felt like a tank. Damn. I really wanted to fall in love with that car...but now....looks like it may be a Camaro.

I just can't get myself to order one sight unseen and not having driven it.

I can wait. I can stash enough cash away to put down at least 15k...I liked the Chally....but I did not love it. I want to LOVE this car...who knows...if the SS does not live up to expectations I may revisit the Challenger...but for now...no sale.
