I thought the exhaust on the L99 was more restrictive and why opening it up would give it more HP gains.

A friend with the Dodge said their exhaust was extremely restrictive and why the gain was so much more. However, their claim of 44HP is over the top, imo. Need to look at other systems for the SRT-8 to see what gains they are claiming.

Here are the things the concern me about getting this. 16G aluminized steel 3.5 inch stainless tips and basically 4 glasspacks with fiberglass for $620. The Flowmaster is 409 SS, no fiberglass and about the same price.

I hate to be the sacrificial lamb on this one.

I too would hate to fork over that much $$ for aluminized steel. You know it's going to rust and won't last, espeically when the lovely salt trucks spread the rusting love around.

They will make it in 409 ss, but said it was a lot more expensive. Most of their systems are aluminized, which makes since when they do a lot of oem exhaust components for other companies. As a result the pricing on 409 isn't the best. Instead of emailing back and forth, I need to call to find out exactly how much more expensive, tell them Gen5 Camaro people will want stainless, and a get a better souind clip.

Some more searching turned up this and my gut feeling may have been correct. I know it's not a Camaro, but still sounds like a pretty balanced review. Needless to say I'll pass. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ang-5-0-a.html

Sounds like his installer was not very experienced. His only real complaint was the drone, although this was on a Mustang. The system itself seems like a good deal for the right person.

Drone is a deal breaker, plus it's didn't look that good to me. Tips not looking very good and his were chrome not ss like comes on the Camaro system. I guess the good news is ss was only $89 more. But now we are well beyond the Flowmaster AMT in price, for ss and alternate tips. And tips that may need adjusting. lol, my SOLO/GMPP Street is growing on me, and I'm trying to fight the urge to experiment.
