There are alot of Z06's in this price rage and mileage. I'd hold off. Right now on carmax.com there's a killer 2006 Z06, Cyber Grey Metallic with Galaxy silver stripes, 21k miles and it's 45k. http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...6-8ebb48b2460e It's bad a$$. But these will still be around for sale five months from now. It's hard because I've thought of doing the same thing. Wait, I'm pretty sure the Camaro will be worth it. You've waited this long, don't give up now.

I think sitting on your money and waiting is a good decision. As others have said here. You will find Z06 deals like this in the future if things with the camaro don't go the way you want. Who knows, in 6 months or so you may see a deal like that on an 07.

I've driven a few Z06s. Awesomely fast car and I've contemplated pretty hard on getting one. But last fall my wife and I drove one up North for a weekend getaway, 600 miles roundtrip. It's just not a good trip car. It rides hard, even on the expressway and it's noisy. Now for around town, short blasts or track days I don't think you can find a better car for that little cash. The Z06 can be a daily driver. But the Camaro is just a more usable car. And right now it's a much better looking car.
I'd love to refute this, but I haven't driven a 2010 Camaro yet. For someone that has driven both, I have to trust your opinion.

But I have to tell you, I've driven both an '06 and '07 Z06 - and they are a pure joy to drive.

There's just something about a 505+ HP 427 CU engine that pulls just as hard from roll-off all the way to 7,200 RPM.

It pulls like a freight train until you let off. The LS3 will not deliver the same experience.

And I disagree over looks. The C6 Z06 has very good looking body lines all the way around.

It depends on your priorities, I guess.

Heck, why not get the Z06 now, enjoy it for a bit, and take a small loss when trading it in for a loaded 2010 SS?

It may not be the most wise decision financially, but you truly do only live once.

Decisions, decisions......
