If I win I'll get the ZR1 (it's insane that you can presumably get that but not a Volt)...

...and then seal it in a secure clean-room sarcophagus until I could actually afford to drive it! lol, guess I'd better be glad that my chances of winning are slim.

I wonder if they'd grant you an IOU for the ZL1 when it comes out?

Uh, guys, logic dictates you buy the most expensive GM vehicle. Period.

The Corvette ZR1 loaded to the hilt would put you at about $130K.

You sell that and get a ZL1, and a CTS-V coupe.

THAT RIGHT THERE makes SSLarry's suggestion possible. The ZR1 is around $10k in taxes depending on the state you are in, thats a big chunk for many to swallow, but this makes it all better!

I think swallowing the $10-20K In fees and getting a $130K car is still better than paying 5-10K in fees and getting a $60K car or whatever else someone would choose. It only makes sense to get the most expensive car since you get to choose from all of them and the ZR1 is just

Some people just don't have that kind of coin to drop at a moments notice, and loans for that amount of money aren't exactly in abundance in some places these days.

just saying i can understand where someone is coming from if they go a little more sedate in their choice.

Yay, I entered. And I got 6 months of free OnStar. You 2010 guys got a whole year, us 2011 guys only got 6 months. So there's my free year!

Anyway, Nice to hear that they'll give you $25,000 to offset any taxes/fees. I wonder if you have to pay income tax plus registration taxes based upon the MSRP of the car? If so, that'll be killer on the $120k ZR1. $30-40k federal income tax registration sales tax of X% for your state...

I haven't been in my Camaro for nearly two weeks now, which is odd as it's my DD!

Vacation rocks!

Have to press the button when I get back in it... and as much as an Escalade would make family sense... the ZR1 would make the best 'financial' sense as far as getting the most for your money as the prize!

In my opinion, if its true that you can get any car with any option, anyone who didn't go for the most expensive GM model would be a dope lol. I know most would go for the ZR-1 and thats that.

But I'd end up going a more conservative route. I'd request the most expensive model. Sell it. Get either an SS or ZL1 (or maybe even a used low mileage ABM SS to replace my ABM!!). Sell my current V6/RS. Put some in savings, and use the rest to get rid of a huge load of debt!!

"Ten (10) Grand Prizes: Winners' choice of only one Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac vehicle, the estimated VRV of each prize vehicle not to exceed $131,681USD/$130,937CAD"

That basically states that the ZR-1 is available. So yes, no matter what GM car you want, get the ZR-1, then sell it and buy that GM car yourself for $$$ profit. Also, the $25,000 they give you to offset taxes - don't you have to pay taxes on that as well? Obviously less of a tax burden than $130k, but still. I seem to remember Oprah running into this problem with all those cars she gave away.
