Put that dealers name on the internet. Force idiots to get their act together. There is no need for that kind of treatment.

If ANY dealer gives you any shit, WALK OUT. There are a lot of people in todays economy looking to treat cistomers properly. I went in 2 weeks after they went on sale and a salesman said he had nothing on the Camaro. I asked again saying they went on sale 2 weeks ago and he said nope. Ok. Went down the road the same night and another salesman had EVERYTHING including prices. This was in October. That guy got a $37,000 sale. The other dealership bugged me a few times wanting to "help" me. I finally told them my story and the manager wanted to know which salesman needed "training". The guy was too lazy to get out of his chair, shake my hand and help me. The info was up on the GM site and he was too tired to look it up. $37,000 sale down the road.

However, nothing on the order sheet said anything regarding whether deposit was refundable or not, and I did add language (and had asst. mgr. sign it) that said not to exceed MSRP existing on 2/20/09).
You say "no way, no how". but what if you are still waiting for your car a year from now. You never know what might come up- Get laid off, wrong options, etc. All deposits should be refundable in my opinion. I think any dealer could sell any Camaro if the customer backed out for any reason.

You never know what is going to happen in this economy. I would never put down a non refundable deposit.

I lucked out. I had my credit card out all ready to put down my $1000 deposit back in November, but my dealers credit card reader wasn't working. He said "don't worry about it, I know you want the car."

Lucky me.

Non Refundable works both ways when the dealer goes under from what I'm reading, pretty scary shit. That's why the country is like it is from greed and being screwed.

also the law in PA. . . doesn't matter if it says non refundable . . . a deposit is 100% refundable. . . I had to change my contract for my business because of this.
