Yeah guys get real. No way GM releases the ZL1 and only a few months later releases a Z28. They'd be competing against themselves. The Z28 would steal sales from the ZL1.

i agree with that. it just doesnt make sense. b/c than you are minimizing the ZL1 launchwith the Z28 which would be a buzz kill. but i do beleive there will be a Z28 like i explained in my first post. Either way I'm going ZL1 for the cache' and nameplate!

Do you folks think there would be Recaro seats in the Z-28?

That would rule me out on a Z-28 being 6'4" Recaro seats aren't made for tall people. I sat in a new Caddie V that had Recaro seats...they are not a tight fit for sure!

I can assure you I'm not upset with the ZL-1 option left open!!

Please make mine a BLK/BLK, 6-M, no sunroof!

Agreed. Didn't Car and Driver provide false speculation on the ZL1 price not too long ago? A price that was immediately shot down by Fbodfather, claiming that no one had spoken to C&D concerning pricing.

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum but I've always love f-bodies and fell in love with the 5th gen camaros.but my question is, GM makin both ZL1 AND Z28 camaros or is the ZL only coming out and not the Z28? And I thought SLP made or packaged the SS and named it the ZL1.

All we have at this point is opinions and speculations about the Z28. There have been no spy shots that I am aware of a new camaro being covered in "camoflouge" (was close on the spelling?), like there was when the ZL1 was being tested late last year.

Everyone on this forum will give you there own some what bias opinion of what the Z28 might be like and when it will arrive for purchase. So for what its worth here is my 2 cents worth!

Will arrive in 2014 on the new smaller alpha platform.
May only be a manual transmission.
Will wiegh around 3800 lbs
cost around 40K
will have less frills on it to keep the wieght and cost down
Engine good question on that one have to see what there plans are
Hoping to see 0 to 60 in 4 seconds or less
1/4 in 12 seconds or less and can handle the course better then the boss

Thanks Z for the welcome. I was at the philly auto show and they had a midnight blue ZL1( Think was SLP) and I think was a Z28( yellow with black stripes). Both had the front bumper of the new Z models. I'll try and upload the show once I figure out how... the blue one and the ZL1 badges...

ZL-1 is official and confirmed for release early 2012.. it will be a horse power based car with a supercharger and meant for the drag strips

Z28 is hypothetical at this point (although I believe it will be released in the next few years personally, if not wayyy sooner) and it will PROBABLY be a track based car with way better handling and suspension than the zl1...

I still believe the ZL-1 will be the most powerful camaro released in any time in the near future... the only thing that will be more powerful and faster in a straight line, will be a later model zl1 if that happens
