If you want looks and only looks then go with shorty's....performance go with long tubes..
I put eldelbrook shorties on mine and my wife has stock exhaust and on dyno she out pulled me...

Seems that the Doug Thorely headers are the only shorties out there getting some real praise for real gains spanning the entire rpm range. Do most agree?

Actually the JBA's also are more than decent also. They are on a few of the cars on the v6 fast list(I know not everyone is out there racing their cars and they have more mods than just these). The JBA's get a bad rap because of their stacker flange and the cel that some were getting due to a poor seal.

The Doug Thorleys look great and get welded to the downpipe, rather than bolted to a flange that gets welded to the downpipe.

If you are looking to make your car go faster than why would anyone be looking at a shortie unless you plan to go FI or emission issues??

This was not even a choice for me. Here in MD we have emission every 2 yrs and I plan to take off my long tube and put in the factory one back in for the emission testing. Not a big deal.

Than again, whoever said that I will be still driving my v6 camaro after 2 yrs. Most likely not. At least if tuning does not improve or just some aftermarket support in general does not get better after the new LFX come out... than my current LLT will defenitely be sold.

I think I see a twin turbo v6 aka 135 on the horizon Sorry..

Don't know about the Edelbrooks, but another member dyno'd w/the DTs and show gains all across the range.

Didn't want to deal w/possible emissions trouble, CEL and tune (at least for now), and they were a big savings in $$$. If we ever get a supercharger for our cars, that's how I'll be rollin

There is some great info on that thread on the DT shorties! No comparison discussions though. Anyone know what thread has some dyno results of LTs?.
