I guess you didn't notice how to change what appears on the DIC then? On my other cars it is also on the steering wheel.

I am jealous.. Think you may get another chance to drive it? Since I am getting an LS I want to know EVERYTHING lol...
It MAY have been on the steering wheel, but I didn't notice. The funny thing was that I couldn't figure out what was under the hazard button that's between the climate control buttons. It was the door locks. Seemed like a strange place to put that.
If I get to drive it again, I'll try to see where the button is for the DIC, and take a picture straight on of the IP. Not sure when that'll be though. It was awesome driving it. Everyone was looking at it and when we stopped, someone even had to pull over to take pics, they were so excited to see one on the road.

Yeah, after I read about the test drives of the early V6 cars I knew that they would be as awesum as the earlier Camaro V8 cars were... 300 HP in a small V6... geesh...

Does anyone remember when 1 HP per cubic inch was a big deal.. think of ths you are getting 300 HP with only 221 Cubic Inches.... thats almost 1.4 HP per cubic inch....
The V8 is only 1.1 HP per Cubic Inch, so we beat them in something

Support? Are you kidding me?

Just ask Number3
It almost sounded like he would prefer the V6 even if the cost was the same. Rest assured, you will not be bummed at all.

Alot of people forget about the insurance difference between the two.

How much of a difference was there?

Well the difference between my cobalt ss and the v6 is nothing the v8 is about 400 every six months more so it's a nice chunk. Between that the gas and the payment difference it's a savings of 310 dollars a month between a 2SS or a 2LT. HENCE MY DECISION LOL

The RJT & Beige is beautiful on the Corvette, I'm sure it will look great on teh Camaro. The V6 sounds like a great engine, and a I think you'll be very happy, congrats on the purchase. Cobalts are expensive to insure, I never figured out why though.

I have the 300hp v6 in my 08 CTS sport aWD and its a great motor. That said...if YOU REALLY WANT THE V8 ..then and its just my opinion ...take some time and order the car the way YOU want..(motor wise)

Otherwise if you wait a few months..I am sure the v8 camaro will be available preowned and for a few grand less than original msrp.

Just an opinion based off of years of experience...

Anytime i really wanted the v8 and didn't buy it...I was never happy with the car and always lusted after the higher hp version...

After owning both it never really mattered that much but I learned over 30 years..Get the motor you lust for.

Good luck.

JB

Thanks brother althogh when I did all the math and looked at it through logical eyes for a daily driver the v8 just doesn't make sense. What I will do is in a few years get a convertible V8 as the weekend warrior...maybe even a z28 convertible hehehehe

Congratulations on your decision. You are using your common sense instead of the cents or should I say $$$$ to help you making a good choice. I know I could pick up a Camaro next year for less used but I feel better about knowing how my new car was handled from the get go.......so to speak. I'm happy about getting the V6 myself.

BTW, My boss told me he seen a couple of Camaro's in the Irving TX area driving around. I asked him if he got pics of it. He asked me "What on my cell phone?" I told him you damn right on your cell phone. Don't come to work telling me about a Camaro you saw and didn't have enough sense to get your cell phone out and take a pic.

WOULD THE GUYS IN THE DFW AREA who have already picked up a car and are driving it PM me. We need to get together. I live in Carrollton and will drive to check out the IOM Camaro especially.

At that price you can get a base 1SS no RS.. However you will still be very happy with the fully loaded V6 2LT/RS RJT..
