I have a car with a stick if I want to drive a stick and I have the Camaro when I want to drive an auto. It seems to go with the convertible. A little more laid back but mean when it wants to be.

It's all subjective. How do you make them exactly the same? Also depends on who's picking their nose when the light goes green. NHRA pro stock uses a clutchless manual. I guess this is the best of both worlds?

hahah...

Yea, I was one of the many who did it for the wife. I have needed her to drive the car on multiple occasions.

Do I have a little regret? sure... but as a daily driver, I just don't think I could care to deal with it again. Is it a friggin blast on the track or weekends..absolutely. However, these autos nowadays (especially THIS one) are just down right incredible. It has been a long time since I actually looked forward to get in a car and actually take the long way home knowing gas is $4+

Exactly- I'm buying a new lawnmower this spring.
Lets see, what do I want:

1) A push mower
2) a self propelled walk behind.
3) Or a rider model.
Gee- I can't decide.

Same with Corvettes. There are more automatics. But the z06 only comes with a manual transmission.

Read the responses, OP. Most with autos got them because they are wusses.

Kidding, kidding.

I drove both a bunch while test driving the Camaro, and the Auto just felt better to me. I have no doubt that over time I would have gotten used to the manual, but I admit I just like being able to put the car in Sport and let it do the work. I also love the idea of the paddles so I can play when I want to. I think it comes down to what feels right to a person.

It's also nice to be able to drink a cup of coffee while in traffic and not worry about shifting.

I owned a stick shift for years and its a pain in the a## to drive in traffic. I had to compromise to be able to buy the car. To me the auto is fast enough for the type of driving I do. If I decide to buy the ZL1 that might be a different story.

With an auto, you can't push the gears to the limit. You can't hear that "screaming" sound of a lower gear on red. Plus, it's awesome sitting at a stop light reving with a manual.

It's so good to be able to shift when you want the d@m car to shift!

Automatic transmission takes all the fun from owning a 6.2L engine. It's the whole concept of "controlling" your car.
