^^^ Damn, life is good for you guys! Nice set-ups.

To the OP...I've seen other forums where they talk about their Blows systems...of course, they are referring to Bose

But if you're getting it for free, then you can compare the two and let us know what you think.

Gotta agree with the other posters... Bose is overpriced marketing. I've never been impressed with their sound quality, above say...Radio Shack. Seriously, though, their marketing department makes Bose what it is....not the superior sound. Now, with that said, they DO get some higher quality out of some seriously small spaces, but the overall quality is just hype. For the money, JBL, Infinity, MTX, and even Jenson beat the heck out of Bose. Hell, I had a 1974 Monte Carlo with Sparkomatic 6x9's in the rear deck that sounded better than the average Bose system.

If you REALLY want top quality, and can afford it, go to a custom speaker manufacturer and tell them how you want it to sound. Then let them design and buid the system. You'll never regret it.

I seriously want someone to come out with a "wireless" system. Having to run wires everywhere is such a pain...

I had Bose on my Infiniti I35 and it was nice but the alpine system I put in my Camaro sounds much better buti can't compare them because the Infiniti went to the trade for the Camaro

Bose is a joke in the A/V world - not because they have bad products, but simply because of their shady marketing strategies and ridiculously marked up prices.
I know I am in a losing battle in this thread, so rather than duke it out, I will concede. But I will say this, the reason you don't see many OEM Bose systems in cars is because they take a car, gut it, add in the system, and tune it for that car. Not for a particular brand or company, but for that specific model car. From what I understand, it's a pretty painstaking process. I know this because I have friends who work for Bose, and as engineers, we talk about things. So I'm not making this up.

That is all...

I have a 12" Rockford P-3 enclosure with RP 1,000 watt amp and it rocks with the Boston speakers. When I turn it off when My mother is in the car. LOL! I do hear distortion playing in the speakers up front. A friend of mine has replaced all his speakers with a Kicker system and it sounds awesome. No distortion or limits to how loud you want it. But when I turn the bass up my sun roof raddles bad. I just open it or crack it a lil and the air moves freely. I plan on replacing all my speakers also. I'm happy with the rear speakers but the doors suck.

I guess I'm too old.

I never cranked my stereo all that loud, and I blew my passenger door speaker. I have an early build (Pre-order) car. After about 16 months the speaker started making bad noises whenever a song had a lot of bass in it.

The newer cars have a weaker amp from what I've been told, because so many of the earlier build cars have had blown door speakers.

I've replaced my door speakers with Infinity 175 watt 6 3/4 speakers. Then I unhooked the front dash center speaker. Now my system sound much better.

I think that this is referencing the wrong code. The system references "UQA", but this is actually the Boston system for the Camaro.

20984302 SPEAKER. Radio Auxiliary Speakers
SPEAKER,RDO RR(ACDelco #20984302). Required: 01For: EE,EF,ES37 'BOSE' PREMIUM ENHANCED AUDIO SYSTEM(UQA) (2011-2011) (2011 - 2011).

EE, EF, ES37... "BOSE"...

UQA is the important part here, and it's Boston for our cars. It's a stupid computer cross-reference issue...

Doesn't Steve at ******** or something like that here on the forums have a new amp/sub configuration that makes the BA's rock? I thought I read his amp has good crossovers in it that keeps from blowing up the BA's and turns off the center channel.

UQA is GM's internal code for the premium audio option. It's not specific to BA, Bose, or any other top tier brand.
